Egg size in Steal An Egg is not something you grind toward. Every server rolls its own egg sizes and mutations, and the huge ones get taken within seconds in a busy lobby. The fastest way to land a multi-thousand-kilogram egg is to stop competing for them and go looking in servers where almost nobody else is playing.
Quick answer: Leave your current server, open the Servers tab on the Steal An Egg game page, set Sort By to “Fewest Players”, join a server with one or two players, then sweep the arenas and steal the largest egg you can carry.
Why fresh servers hold bigger eggs
Egg sizes, mutations, and spawns are generated per server. When a new server spins up, or when the in-game cycle triggers an “ALL EGG RESET!“, every egg on the map is rerolled. That reroll is where enormous eggs come from, not from any upgrade you buy.
The second half of the equation is competition. Server size is capped at seven players, so in a full lobby the biggest egg is usually gone before you finish the run to it. In a server with one or two players, the same egg tends to be sitting untouched. That combination — a fresh roll plus nobody to race — is the entire trick.
How to hop into a low-population Steal An Egg server
Which arenas to sweep, and the speed each one needs
Access to each biome is gated by your speed stat, which you build on the treadmill. There is no point hopping servers hunting for Cosmic eggs if you cannot reach Cosmic yet, so check where your speed actually lets you go before starting a sweep.

Cherry Blossom and Titan Temple sit beyond that core run and are where several of the heaviest eggs turn up, including the Cherry Blossom eggs that hatch into pets weighing thousands of kilograms. Sweep them last on each hop, since they are the most likely to hold something worth carrying.
Speed decides which eggs you can actually take home
Finding a giant egg and keeping it are two different problems. Heavier eggs slow you down badly while you carry them, and the biome’s guardian monster chases you the moment you steal. Get caught and you are launched back toward the starting point without the egg.
The free fix is the treadmill. Spend a cycle on it between hops and you raise the ceiling on what you can drag back to base. Beyond that, the in-game shop sells speed directly.

Tip: if you spot a huge egg but cannot outrun the monster with it, take a smaller egg from the same arena rather than losing the run entirely. Then train speed and hop again — the big rolls keep reappearing in new servers.
Confirming the steal worked
Walk up to the egg and the “E Steal” prompt appears. Trigger it, then sprint back without stopping. The steal only counts once you are inside your own base.
Once home, place the egg on a free space in your pen. The base scale shows its weight, and your inventory lists it too — the two figures do not always match, so treat the hatched pet’s weight as the real result. A single Cherry Blossom egg taken this way registered 9,927Kg on the base scale, showed 5,927Kg in inventory, and hatched into a pet just under 6,000 kg.
Each egg then runs its own hatch timer. The timer expiring is not the end of it; you have to return to the pen and press Hatch yourself before the pet appears. After that it starts generating cash for you on its own.
Why a hop comes back empty
Most failed attempts come down to four things, and none of them mean the method is broken.
- Someone beat you to it. Secret spawns announce themselves to everyone on the server with messages like “A Secret Cosmic Dragon Egg spawned in Cosmic!” or “A Secret Mutant Shark Egg spawned in Titan Temple!” Even one other player can reach it first.
- Your speed is too low for the weight. The guardian catches you mid-carry and resets you to the start.
- The roll was simply poor. Fresh servers can generate small, unmutated eggs across every arena. Hop again.
- You joined a busy server by mistake. Sorting resets if you reload the page, so recheck the Sort By dropdown before each join.
One thing that saves you a hop: if “ALL EGG RESET!” fires while you are already in a quiet server, stay put. Every egg on that map has just been rerolled, which is exactly what a new server would have given you.
Server hopping works the same whether you are new or already deep into the game. Newer players use it to grab pets far heavier than their biome should allow; established players use it to farm the secret and mutated spawns that never survive long in a full lobby. Either way, the loop is short — sort, join, sweep, repeat — and it costs nothing but time.
