Speed is the stat that gates everything in Steal An Egg. It decides which biomes you can enter, how far you can run before a guardian catches you, and whether the egg you just grabbed makes it back to your farm. Your current total sits in the bottom-left corner of the screen next to a shoe icon, and it only goes up through a handful of specific systems.
Quick answer: Claim the free 10,000 Speed from the game’s Roblox group, then run the Treadmill and spend every bit of cash on Treadmill upgrades and the highest Trail multiplier you can afford. Multipliers apply to Treadmill gains, so buy them before you grind.
Speed requirements for each biome in Steal An Egg
There are nine biomes, and each one has a minimum Speed before stealing is realistic. You can technically walk into any of them, but without the listed number the guardian will catch you on the way back and fling you to the start. Use this as your progression checklist.

Claim the free 10,000 Speed reward
The fastest free boost in the game is a one-time gift for joining the official community. It hands over 10,000 Speed, which is enough to clear the Lake requirement instantly and put you close to Desert.
Treadmill upgrades: your permanent Speed source
The Treadmill spawns directly in front of your base and is the only unlimited Speed generator. Standing on it awards Speed per step, and each upgrade level raises that per-step figure. Early levels give small amounts like +200 per step, mid-tier upgrades push it to +500, and the Level 8 Hacker Treadmill reaches +11K per step. The maxed Angel Treadmill sits at the top of the ladder.
Upgrades are paid for with in-game cash earned by your pets, so the loop is simple. Steal eggs, hatch them, let the pets generate money, then dump that money into the Treadmill. Short-form video reels play on the Treadmill screen while you train, which makes the grind less painful.
Note: You cannot steal eggs at night. That downtime is the ideal window to sit on the Treadmill and bank Speed for the next reset.
Trail multipliers and how they stack
Trails are cosmetic effects that also multiply your Speed. The Trail Shop sits on the right side of the safe zone. Only the equipped Trail counts, so there is no reason to buy every tier on the way up. Save your cash and jump straight to the highest one you can reach.

The Divine Trail is the best multiplier currently available at x14. Separately, the shop sells stacking Speed Multiplier tiers bought with Robux, which climb into the x128 range and can be doubled again to x256. These multiply what the Treadmill produces, so buying them before a long training session is far more efficient than buying them after.
Robux Speed packages in the shop
If you want to skip biome gates outright, the shop sells flat Speed injections. The packages run from +150K SPEED at the bottom up to +1B SPEED at the top, with +1M, +10M, +50M and +500M in between. A single +1B purchase clears the Cosmic requirement of 700M on its own. Prices have shifted between updates, so check the current Robux figure in the shop before buying rather than relying on an old number.
The Hungry Monster event and its chest rewards
The Hungry Monster is a repeatable event that pays out multipliers rather than raw Speed. You need to find five parasite-infested eggs on the map and feed them to the monster, which fills its belly meter. Once it is full, you get a reward chest with a randomized drop.

The 2X Treadmill Speed drop is the one worth chasing. At a 20% rate it is common enough to farm, and it doubles the output of the machine you are already using.
Pet Index rewards and Admin Abuse events
The Pet Index pays out for filling in entries with pets you hatch. Rewards scale hard with rarity. A Common entry like the Chicken returns a small cash-per-second bonus, while a Divine tier completion pays 6.8 million Speed alongside $300B in cash, and Legendary tiers hand over $400B. Claiming index rewards regularly is one of the largest free Speed jumps in the mid game.
Admin Abuse events are developer-run sessions that grant large temporary Speed bonuses and admin trails. During one, players can reach the Cosmic biome, take a Cosmic Egg and get back to base in seconds. These have run on Saturdays, though no specific upcoming session is confirmed. The Wi-Fi toggle Robux trick does not work
A widely shared method claims you can buy a Speed gamepass for free by switching your Wi-Fi off mid-purchase, so the game grants the item before the payment registers. It fails. The purchase completes and the Robux still leaves your account. The same approach applied to duplicating Hungry Monster chest rewards through tab switching also fails.
There is no method that produces genuinely infinite Speed. What people mean by that phrase is stacking a x14 Divine Trail on top of a maxed Treadmill and high multiplier tiers, at which point Speed accumulates fast enough that biome gates stop mattering.
The efficient order is worth repeating, because doing it backwards wastes hours. Multiplier first, grind second. Claim the group reward, buy the best Trail your cash allows, upgrade the Treadmill as far as your pets can fund, and only then settle in for a long training session. Every point you earn afterward is worth several times more than the ones you earned before.
