The Blood of Dawnwalker: How to Restore the Pilgrim’s Bridge Shrine

Where the broken shrine sits, how to recover its missing heart, and what unlocks once it is repaired.

Where the broken shrine sits, how to recover its missing heart, and what unlocks once it is repaired.

The Pilgrim’s Bridge shrine sits in Vale Sangora as a gray icon until you put its stolen idol back in place. Like every damaged shrine in The Blood of Dawnwalker, it stays inactive for fast travel, storage, waiting, and perk spending until the heart is returned, which makes it one of the more useful repairs in the St. Tyna’s Grove area.

Quick answer: Inspect the shrine to start “Destroyed Shrines: Pilgrim’s Bridge”, recover the Pilgrim’s Bridge Shrine’s Heart from Breslauer’s stash in Nuestadt, then return to the shrine and hold the interact key (F on PC) to restore it for 25 XP.

Pilgrim’s Bridge shrine location and quest details

The broken shrine stands past Pilgrim’s Bridge, southeast of Woodcutter’s Camp and east of Murohn’s Lair, on the grove side of the crossing. Coming from the Maragir Wealds side, you simply run across the bridge and follow the objective marker up through the rocky ground.

How to get the Pilgrim’s Bridge Shrine’s Heart

Most damaged shrines hand you a footprint trail in Focus Mode that ends at a nearby camp, corpse, or pack of animals. Pilgrim’s Bridge does not work that way. Its idol was taken to a stash, and the shrine itself points you there.

Inspect the broken shrine to trigger the restoration quest. Read the journal left at the shrine, which names the house in Nuestadt, in the southern part of Svartrau City, where the trail continues.
Travel to that house in Nuestadt. The ground floor door is not the way in, so ignore it and look up at the balcony on the upper floor.
Use your Vrakhiri abilities to climb to the upstairs balcony and go in through that door. Inside, read the notes lying around, which lead to Breslauer’s stash.
Open the stash and take the Pilgrim’s Bridge Shrine’s Heart. The same stash holds hearts for other damaged shrines in the region, so grab everything before you leave.

Note: if you lose the trail at any point, hold Focus Mode (right mouse button on PC, L2/LT on a controller) and sweep the area for highlighted objects and footprints. It is the same tool used to track hearts at every other damaged shrine.

Returning the heart and restoring the shrine

Open the map and set the Pilgrim’s Bridge shrine as your active objective. The gold quest marker and its directional arrow will point you to the exact spot east of Murohn’s Lair.

Approach from the Maragir Wealds side and run across Pilgrim’s Bridge into the grove. The “Restore the shrine” objective and remaining distance stay pinned on screen the whole way.

Walk up to the shrine with the heart in your inventory. The quest tracker still shows “Destroyed Shrines: Pilgrim’s Bridge” and the restore objective at this point.

Hold the interact key, F on PC, to place the idol. The quest closes out with a QUEST ENDED prompt and 25 XP, and the shrine’s icon on the map turns from gray to blue.

What the restored shrine unlocks

Once repaired, the shrine behaves exactly like any active shrine in Vale Sangora. Interacting with it opens a menu with four options, and it becomes a valid fast travel destination from every other shrine you have already visited.

OptionWhat it does
PerksSpend skill points across Witchcraft, Swordmastery, and Vampirism
Fast TravelJump to any shrine you have already unlocked
StorageDeposit and withdraw stored items
WashClean up at the shrine

The perk menu is the one worth opening straight away. Each mastery line lists its description and the point cost for every unlock, so you can spend anything you have banked before moving on.

Why the shrine will not restore

There are only a few reasons the restore prompt does not appear. Ruling them out takes seconds.

  • The Pilgrim’s Bridge Shrine’s Heart is not in your inventory. Standing at the shrine without the idol does nothing.
  • You never inspected the shrine, so the restoration quest and its journal clue were never triggered.
  • You reached the Nuestadt house but did not enter through the upper balcony door, which is the only way in.
  • The map icon is still gray after placing the idol. Interact with the shrine once more to finish the placement.

The one real cost to weigh is time. Restoring a damaged shrine pushes the in-game clock forward by a segment, and Vale Sangora’s quests run on deadlines, so it is worth clearing any timed objective first and repairing the shrine on your way back through the grove.
