The “Take down Geno and defy his commands to save The Order from her father” step is one of the last hurdles in Geno’s story quest series, and it is deliberately misleading. The game tells you to defeat Geno in battle, but the fight is designed so you cannot win it. What actually clears the objective is dying to him and then dropping into a fresh match.
Quick answer: Fly to the center of the island, shoot Geno inside his red bubble, let him eliminate you, then load into a new match and land anywhere on the island. The step completes as soon as you touch down.
Where to find Geno on the island
Geno hovers in the dead center of the map, in the open space that no named location claims. Use the surrounding points of interest to orient yourself. He sits east of Green Hill Zone, north of Stone Sanctum, west of Reality’s Reign, and south of The Battlewoods.
Reality’s Reign is the closest named POI, so head just west of it and aim for the heart of the island rather than a marked spot. When you reach the middle, look up. Geno is suspended high in the sky inside a red bubble, so you will not see him at ground level.

How to complete the take down Geno step
Because the confrontation always ends in your elimination, take it on early in a round when you have nothing left to lose. If you revisit the center later, Geno stays in the same spot and will strike you down again every time you attack him.
Empty your Sprites before you attack
Since striking Geno immediately ends your run, do not carry any rare Sprites into the fight. Anything valuable you are holding, such as the Klombo Sprite, the Crown Sprite, or the X-Ray Sprite, is lost when the round closes. Extract or bank what you want to keep before you fly up to him.
How to know it worked and what comes next
The quest does not update while you are still in the match where Geno eliminates you. Confirmation only appears in the following game, the moment you land on the island. If the step has not registered, make sure you actually attacked Geno in the previous round rather than just flying near him.
Clearing this step leaves one final objective in the series. Once every other quest is done, a hidden mission asks you to enter the code YourThoughtsAreMine in the Admin Panel from the lobby. Type it exactly as written, with matching capitalization and no spaces, to claim the reward that caps off Geno’s questline.
