Version 3.2 of Zenless Zone Zero introduces Flint Workshop, and one short story beat from it has traveled much further than the rest of the update. A group of Sons of Calydon members walks into a room looking for Claret, and instead finds her on the floor with Roxy attached to her finger.
Quick answer: The scene has an in-fiction explanation given out loud. Roxy says Claret suddenly got dizzy and that she was helping out, which is what the group interrupts.
What happens in the Roxy and Claret finger cutscene
The scene runs well under a minute. Piper, Lucy, Burnice, and Lighter arrive with a Bangboo in tow, calling out for Claret as they enter a furnished lounge. Nobody is visible at first, which is the joke the scene is building toward.

A hand waves from behind a couch and a voice answers, pointing the group to the floor. There they find Roxy, the green-haired smith, with a finger in her mouth. She is told to stop, the group reacts with a mix of confusion and laughter, and the explanation about dizziness follows immediately.

Add to Google Preferences →Every line of dialogue in the scene
The whole exchange is six spoken lines plus two shouted reactions, which is why so much of the reading is left to the visuals.
- “Claret, we’re here…”
- “Huh? Claret?”
- “Wait!”
- “We’re… We’re over here…”
- “What’s going on?!”
- “We had a little situation”
- “Stop it, Roxy!”
- “She suddenly got dizzy!” / “I was just helping out!”
Note: the dizziness line is the only causal detail the scene commits to. Nothing in the dialogue names a condition, a treatment, or a reason the finger is involved.

Where the scene sits in Version 3.2 “Their Secret Histories”
Version 3.2 is dated September 9, 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox Cloud Gaming, PC, iOS, and Android, and it moves Zenless Zone Zero‘s story to Vyrium, the special zone in the Shrouded Reef where Porcelloy is produced. Phaethon travels there to continue treatment for the mutated power in their body, then gets pulled into a case when a Porcelloy shipment vanishes from a Flint Workshop transfer station.
Claret and Roxy drive that investigation, and the trail leads to a covert research facility connected to Helios Academy. Lindverne Sunbringer also commissions Claret to chase Porcelloy leads inside the remains of Girtablullu. Claret has said she suspects Lindverne is keeping something from her, which is where the version’s title gets its weight.

Claret is an S-Rank Electric Agent on the first half of the version’s Signal Search alongside a Nangong Yu rerun. Roxy, an S-Rank Wind Stun Agent, follows in the second half alongside Promeia.
Why blood keeps coming up with Claret and Roxy
The finger moment is not the only time these two are shown swapping something. A separate shot circulating from Version 3.2 material shows Claret leaning into Roxy’s neck, and it set off a long-running argument over whether Claret is a vampire. Her design leans on bat and blood motifs, and the naming across her kit does the same.
In combat, Claret is the game’s first Armourer, a specialty built around balancing offense and defense. She stacks Gash on enemies, then converts those stacks into Maim for bonus damage and a Laceration DMG boost, and she can shift into a Blood Axe form for stronger versions of some skills. Her damage scales from DEF rather than ATK, and CRIT Rate past 100 percent feeds the multi-CRIT mechanic. Her signature W-Engine is Crimson Thirst; Roxy’s is Crimson Moon Casket, and Version 3.2 also adds a W-Engine called Bloodmarrow Coffer to City Fund Benefits.

Players have filled the gap with theories, ranging from Claret producing blood rather than drinking it, to some kind of exchange keeping Roxy stable, to Claret simply replacing what she loses using her own blood in her fighting style. None of that has been confirmed, and the scene itself never says.
What is verifiable is what the scene actually shows and says, and it stops at the dizziness line. Until the story spells out the connection between the two, the finger moment is a comedy beat with a very deliberate blank space in the middle of it.
