Blox Fruits: How to Get Combat V2 in the First Sea

Combat V2 is the hidden fighting style tied to the First Sea rework in Update 30, and it sits behind the sea’s new secret progression system rather than a shop NPC. There is no teacher who simply sells it. Instead, you build up secret levels, finish off the First Sea’s original fighting styles, and then take it to one specific NPC in Middle Town.

Quick answer: Clear the First Sea secrets on every island, push your secret level to 3000, max out Dark Step, Electric and Water Kung Fu, then speak to the Secrets Master NPC on the second floor of the main central building in Middle Town.

Combat V2 unlock requirements in Blox Fruits

Every condition below is a First Sea task. Nothing here sends you to the Second or Third Sea, though the grind is long enough that most players attempting it are already well past the normal level cap.

RequirementWhat it involves
First Sea secretsComplete the secrets on each island so the star progression on the world map is cleared
Secret level 3000Keep completing secrets after hitting the normal level cap to raise your secret level
Dark StepFully trained and maxed mastery
ElectricFully trained and maxed mastery
Water Kung FuFully trained and maxed mastery
CombatThe starting style may also need mastery on your account

First Sea secrets and secret level 3000

The rework added a secret progression track that runs alongside normal levelling. Open the world map and each First Sea island shows its own secret progress, so you can see at a glance which islands still have work left. Clearing an island’s secrets fills in its star.

Once you hit the standard level ceiling, secret completions are what keep pushing your number upward. That is the route to secret level 3000, and it is the single longest part of the whole process. There is no shortcut around it, so plan on working island by island rather than farming one spot.

Max out Dark Step, Electric and Water Kung Fu

The three original First Sea fighting styles all need to be fully trained. Buying them is the easy part; the mastery grind is what takes time. Helpfully, mastery is kept even after you learn a different style, so you can cycle through all three on one account without losing progress, and relearning a style you already owned costs nothing.

Note: all three First Sea teachers can also be found at Hot and Cold in the Second Sea if you would rather not sail back and forth across the First Sea to swap styles.

The Combat style problem

Every player starts with Combat, the two-move style handed out automatically on your first join. The catch is that Combat is replaced the moment you learn any other fighting style, and it cannot be bought back from a teacher afterwards. Since Combat V2 is built on top of it, that creates an obvious wrinkle for accounts that swapped away years ago.

A reliable way to recover Combat once it has been replaced has not been documented. If you still have it equipped, keep building its mastery alongside the others. If you do not, complete every other requirement first and let the Secrets Master tell you what is missing.

Secrets Master location in Middle Town

Sail to Middle Town in the First Sea and head for the large central building in the middle of the island. This is the structure the whole town is built around, so it is hard to miss from the docks.
Get up to the second floor. You can climb the exterior wall if your race or movement abilities allow it, or use the interior route to reach the upper level.

Walk the upper balcony until you find the NPC tagged MISC. Middle Town is a Safe Zone with PvP disabled, so nobody can interrupt you while you look.

Stand in the Interact prompt circle and talk to the Secrets Master. The dialogue is what confirms your progress, and it is where the unlock is handled once you meet every condition.

How to check whether it worked

The Secrets Master’s dialogue is the verification step. If a requirement is still outstanding, the conversation reflects that rather than handing anything over, so the NPC doubles as a progress checker you can visit at any point in the grind. A successful unlock shows up as the new style in your inventory, replacing whatever fighting style you currently have equipped.

The three failure points worth ruling out before you make the trip are an unfinished island star on the world map, a secret level below 3000, and any of the three First Sea styles sitting short of max mastery.

Because the First Sea rework landed so recently, parts of the Combat V2 chain are still being pinned down by players working through it, and the Combat recovery question in particular has no settled answer yet. The requirements above are the ones to start on now, since none of them will go to waste. Secret levels, cleared island stars and maxed fighting style mastery all carry forward regardless of how the final unlock shakes out.
