The Blood of Dawnwalker Max Level Cap and How to Reach Level 50

Coen tops out at Level 50, and the Glass Ceiling trophy unlocks the moment you get there.

Coen tops out at Level 50, and the Glass Ceiling trophy unlocks the moment you get there.

Coen’s power ceiling in The Blood of Dawnwalker is fixed. Once he hits the top rank, normal leveling stops and the last remaining progression trophy becomes available. The trickier part is not the number itself but the pace, since the climb slows sharply in the final stretch and the main story can end well before you get there.

Quick answer: The max level is 50. Reach it by earning XP from quests, Court Activities, exploration, and combat, then the Glass Ceiling trophy or achievement unlocks automatically.

Level 50 is the cap and how much XP it takes

Level 50 is the highest character level Coen can reach. Climbing the full curve from Level 1 to Level 50 requires 76,440 total experience, and each level costs more than the last. That rising cost is why a fast main-story run often finishes with a large amount of XP still owed before the cap.

Leveling also feeds your build. A full run hands out 59 Skill Points, one per level plus extra points at certain milestones, spread across the Swordmastery, Witchcraft, and Vampirism trees. Reaching Level 50 gives you enough to fully invest in one tree and dip into a second, but not enough to buy every ability across all three.

Fastest ways to earn XP toward Level 50

The efficient path treats the open world as your main XP source rather than grinding one enemy type. Fight patrols you pass, but plan routes around activities that reward the most experience for the time they cost.

Finish the prologue to unlock the wider map of Vale Sangora. This opens access to towers, shrines, Court Activities, and the regional side quests you need for steady progression.
Climb the towers in each region. Reaching the top reveals nearby points of interest, which lets you group camps, lairs, and quests into tight routes instead of wandering.
Prioritize main quests, side quests, and Court Activities. These pay the largest XP rewards and also raise the Anger of the lieutenants Ambrus, Bakir, and Xanthe while pushing the story forward.
Clear open-world activities such as Monster Lairs, Bandit Camps, Soldier Camps, and Ancient Circles as you travel between objectives. Monster Lairs are especially worthwhile because they can grant XP and Skill Points without consuming a Time Segment.
Check the character menu regularly. It shows your current XP against the amount needed for the next level, so you always know how far you are from Level 50.

Note: Some larger side quests are time-sensitive and can disappear if you leave them too long. Tackle the ones you care about early, and hold the rest for later cleanup.

Where the game expects your level to be

Each region scales its enemies to a level band, which doubles as a signal for where to go next. If a newly entered area feels far tougher than Coen, return to an earlier region and clear quests and activities you skipped.

RegionLevel band
Laslea Glen1–3
Briar Sloughs8–16
Maragir Wealds10–18
St. Tyna’s Grove15–23
Svartrau City17–25
Boar’s Back22–30
Rockfalls24–32
The Silts29–37
Tantari Woods31–39
Greifberg Castle36–50

Svartrau City is a strong stop for dense progression, since the city packs roughly 20 side quests into one area. Unlock each region’s shrines as you arrive to build a fast-travel network that makes late cleanup far quicker.

The 30-day limit does not cap your level

The main story runs on a 30 in-game day timer tied to saving Coen’s family before Brencis acts. Reaching Level 50 inside that window is possible with thorough play, but it is unlikely on a normal run, and chasing XP purely by spending Time Segments can cost you story content.

The timer does not end progression. After you reach an ending, you can keep exploring Vale Sangora and finishing side quests, Court Activities, lairs, and camps to earn the XP still needed for the cap. The world holds plenty of combat content for this, including Monster Lairs, Bandit Camps, Soldier Camps, Ancient Circles, Persons in Danger, Vrakhiri transports, and more.

Tip: Keep a manual save before committing to the final sequence. That gives you a clean point to return to the world and clear whatever is left if Coen is still below 50.

Glass Ceiling trophy and how to confirm it unlocked

Reaching Level 50 unlocks Glass Ceiling. There is no side quest, boss fight, or dialogue choice attached, and it is non-missable because it checks your character level rather than a story branch. Your build choices do not matter for it, so play Coen however you like.

The reward is worth 20 Gamerscore on Xbox and lands as a trophy on PlayStation. You do not need to spend the Skill Points gained at Level 50 for it to count, since Level 50 is the cap and the next-level XP requirement no longer applies.

You know it worked when the trophy or achievement notification pops on screen right after the character menu shows Level 50. If it does not appear despite hitting the cap, check your online session, then reload your save so the level is re-evaluated on load.

The steady approach wins here. Avoid rushing the main story, clear side content while crossing Vale Sangora, and if the credits roll before Level 50, load your pre-ending save and finish the remaining activities until Coen tops out and Glass Ceiling triggers.
