Helicopters in WARDOGS punish twitchy sticks. The game reads joystick deflection as a rotation rate rather than a fixed attitude, so every tiny input near center keeps rotating the airframe until you correct it. The fix is not a magic in-game slider. It is a response curve written into the VKB Gladiator NXT EVO itself, plus a deadzone small enough to remove drift without eating usable stick travel.
Quick answer: In VKB Device Configurator, open the Curve Wizard for Axis #1, lower the early curve points so the response stays flat near center and still climbs to 128 at full deflection, switch the Curve column from Off to ON for roll and pitch, copy the curve across with Shift + LMB, set Dz Lo to around 0.5 while keeping the axis maximum at 65535, then press Set to write it to the stick. In WARDOGS, use a 0.02 roll and pitch deadzone and leave sensitivity at 1.0.
How WARDOGS reads joystick input
Deflection equals continuous rotation. Hold the stick a few degrees off center and the helicopter keeps rolling or pitching at that rate, so you are constantly returning to center rather than parking the stick at an angle. That is why the area around center matters more than the extremes, and why a stick with weak or removed centering springs is harder to fly here than in a sim that holds attitude.

A flight stick is supported and the game swaps to it on its own the moment you climb into a helicopter, then hands control back to mouse and keyboard when you get out. Pitch, roll, yaw on pedals and a throttle mapped to collective all bind as separate axes. None of that is documented on any official page, so the behavior is established by players rather than by a support article.

Note: physical axis rows and logical axis numbering are not always the same thing. Confirm both before editing, otherwise you will build a perfect curve and apply it to yaw.
Build the response curve in the Curve Wizard

Deadzones live in the same Profile tab as the curve. Dz Lo controls the dead area around center, and Dz Hi controls how much travel at the top of the axis is treated as maximum. On the Gladiator NXT EVO, with its contactless sensors, a large center deadzone is almost never needed and mostly costs you fine control.

The check that matters is the top end. Push each axis fully to its mechanical stop and confirm the value reaches 65535. If it stops short, the stick can never command a full-rate roll or pitch in game, and no in-game sensitivity setting will give that authority back.
Write the profile to the joystick and save it

With the curve baked into the device, the in-game side stays deliberately plain. In the Gamepad menu, a roll and pitch deadzone of 0.02 is enough to stop resting drift without swallowing small corrections. Raise it only if the aircraft still moves with your hand off the stick.

Leave pitch and roll sensitivity at 1.0 unless you have a specific reason not to. Dropping it below 1.0 does not flatten the center response the way a curve does. It caps maximum rotational authority, so the helicopter simply cannot turn as hard at full deflection. Center precision belongs to the curve; sensitivity belongs to the top end.

Collective Sensitivity is a separate adjustment and it exists to match physical throttle travel to the in-game collective range. Set it so the bottom of your throttle gives minimum collective and the top gives maximum, with no dead stretch at either end of the lever.
Confirm the curve is active
Go back to the Test tab and the Axes1 view after pressing Set. Move the stick slowly through the first third of its travel and the bar should barely move. Push it toward the stops and the bar should accelerate to full scale. That difference between the slow center and the sharp extremes is the visual confirmation that the curve is live.
In the air, the same setup shows up as a helicopter that holds a hover without micro-oscillating while still rolling hard when you commit. If the response feels linear in the middle, the Curve column is still set to Off for that axis.

Known problems that are not your curve
Bindings do not persist between sessions. Every pilot flying a stick currently remaps the full set each time they play, which takes a few minutes and is unrelated to anything stored on the device. Curves and deadzones written with Set survive, because they live in the joystick, not in the game.
A remap can also leave an axis stuck, with the game reading constant yaw input until it is redone. Sticks without proper centering can end up physically centered while the game still registers deflection, forcing you to overcorrect the other way. Camera panning on a HOTAS is choppy and the helicopter map overlay is awkward to use, and neither is something a curve fixes.

Keep the configurator and firmware on matching versions, save the working .cfg somewhere you can find it, and treat the curve as a one-time job rather than something to retune every flight. The setup that works is dull on purpose: a flat center, a full 65535 at the stops, a 0.5 Dz Lo on the device, 0.02 in the Gamepad menu, and sensitivity left alone at 1.0.
