Story Pack 2: FL4K and the Last Resort adds two Pearlescent weapons and 18 pieces of Legendary gear, and nearly all of it is tied to a specific source on Providence Island. Some items come from named bosses in the jungle zones, others only appear from Digi-Rift events, volcano world events, or side missions.
Quick answer: Find the boss, Digi-Rift, or mission listed for the item you want, kill or complete it, and repeat the fight from a Big Encore station until the dedicated drop appears.
What you need before farming Providence loot
The loot is locked behind the paid DLC, not a free update. Story Pack 2 costs $19.99 and includes Providence along with its missions, activities, and gear, and it is bundled with the Super Deluxe Edition and the Vault Hunter Pack. Loveless the Hacker is a separate $9.99 purchase and is not required to farm any of these items.
The pack launched alongside the Version 1.10 update, which raised the level cap by 10 for every player. You can buy or check ownership on the official Borderlands 4 site.

Providence is split into four main farming areas: The Upper Crust, Vinechoked Canopy, Bagheera Range, and Pyroclast Field, with Tediore FOB Bravo Lima 4.2 acting as the final stretch of the DLC. Each named boss below has a dedicated drop.
| Boss / source | Zone | Drop |
|---|---|---|
| Dr. Elena Smith | The Upper Crust | Lovelorn |
| RelaxMech | Vinechoked Canopy | Hand Frag |
| Jr. Manager Warrant Baggett | Vinechoked Canopy | Shardenfreude |
| Logistics Manager Reyes | Digi-Rift, entered from Vinechoked Canopy | Critical Decay |
| Ducky | Pyroclast Field | Devourer |
| Jayson and his Frame | Pyroclast Field | Petanque |
| Drilla Killa | Bagheera Range | Exhibition, Hemorrhage, Blood Moon |
| Lieutenant Bume | Bagheera Range | Fourier’s Malady |
| Megan | Bagheera Range | Honeymooner |
| Big Bada Boom Drone | Bagheera Range | Li’l Brudder |
| Kolavalin | Tediore FOB Bravo Lima 4.2 | Hippo Gun |
| Lieutenant Harmony | Tediore FOB Bravo Lima 4.2 | Astonisher, Infection |
The Upper Crust is the earliest of these stops, and Dr. Elena Smith is the first boss most players will reach with a dedicated weapon attached to her. Open the map and set a waypoint on her arena before you travel, since the resort district loops back on itself.

Lieutenant Harmony sits at the end of the campaign inside the volcano bunker, so you need to clear Tediore’s five elite managers before she becomes farmable. Both Pearlescent-adjacent prizes at that stage, the Astonisher and the Infection, come from her.
Items that do not come from named bosses
Four pieces of gear are tied to activities rather than a boss health bar. Digi-Rift events let you upload into Tediore’s servers and fight waves of digistructed enemies, and the Pyroclast Field rifts are the ones that matter for loot.
| Item | How to get it |
|---|---|
| Quadratus (Pearlescent) | Tediore Digi-Rift events in Pyroclast Field |
| Decompiler | Tediore Digi-Rift events in Pyroclast Field |
| Ripple | Tediore FOB Bravo Lima 4.2 |
| Font of Life | Volcanus, the Pyroclast Field world event boss |
| Avarice | “Pay to Play” side mission in Bagheera Range |
| Paperclip (purple) | “Barter Up” quest in Pyroclast Field |
Volcanus only appears through the volcano world event, where Ordonite-infused lava hits the ground and spawns a miniboss on impact. If the Font of Life did not drop, wait for the next eruption rather than searching the map for a static spawn.
What each Story Pack 2 weapon does
| Weapon | Type | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Devourer | Ripper sniper | Consumes matching active status effects to deal their remaining damage instantly |
| Lovelorn | Tediore assault rifle | Spawns automated kill drones on enemy kills |
| Hand Frag | Daedalus SMG | Fires a shotgun blast on reload, scaling with ammo reloaded |
| Shardenfreude | Daedalus assault rifle | Sticky projectiles detonate when you switch firing modes |
| Critical Decay | Torgue pistol | 30% chance to attach a sticky bomb on status effect damage |
| Exhibition | Vladof sniper | Fires 24 rounds in a rapid burst, with very heavy ammo use |
| Fourier’s Malady | Tediore shotgun | Throws copies of itself when fired |
| Honeymooner | Maliwan SMG | +20% status damage taken per hit, up to 5 stacks |
| Petanque | Order sniper | “Clonk” jumps projectiles to nearby targets on kill |
| Ripple | Torgue assault rifle | Bonus corrosive damage when stickies explode on corroded enemies |
| Hippo Gun | Jakobs shotgun | +200% damage, reload speed, and melee damage while sliding |
| Decompiler | Maliwan shotgun | Fires multi-elemental projectiles |
| Avarice | Order assault rifle | Spends $4,168 per shot for +300% damage |
| Virtue | Order pistol | Charges up to fire multiple rounds per trigger pull |
| Infection | Jakobs pistol | Converts critical hits to radiation with raised status chance and damage |
Note: the Avarice drains real currency from your wallet per shot, so it stops boosting damage the moment you run out of cash. Treat it as a burst weapon for boss damage windows rather than a general-purpose gun.
The two new Pearlescent weapons
The Astonisher is a Ripper shotgun that consumes your entire magazine in one shot, with damage scaling off how much ammo it burns. It rewards large magazine rolls and reload-speed support, since every shot forces a full reload cycle.
The Quadratus is a Vladof heavy weapon built around single high-damage shots, and it benefits from flat gun damage bonuses rather than splash or elemental scaling. Because it only drops from Pyroclast Field Digi-Rifts, it is the more time-consuming of the two to farm.
Shield, repkit, and grenade ordnance
Three non-gun items round out the Providence pool, and all three are built around status effects.
- MAD Exfoliatrix (shield) — raises status effect chance when a shield segment breaks and restores shield whenever enemies take status damage.
- Font of Life (Tediore repkit) — heals 65k over 30 seconds and grants +25% splash damage.
- Li’l Brudder (Maliwan grenade ordnance) — spawns extra grenades that match your equipped gun’s element.
Legendary Class Mods drop from any Providence boss
Each of the six Vault Hunters gets one new Legendary Class Mod in this pack, and none of them are locked to a single fight. All 18 Providence bosses can drop them, so farm whichever boss you kill fastest.
| Class Mod | Vault Hunter | Core effect |
|---|---|---|
| GOAT | Vex | 20% chance for kills to spawn a Soul Orb; detonated orbs grant 30% bonus elemental damage for 20 seconds |
| Masochist | Rafa | Self-inflicted damage is stored and converted into bonus Incendiary damage |
| Programmer | Loveless | +25% fire rate for 15 seconds after using an Executable; empowered melee cuts its cooldown by 25% |
| Table Hopper | C4SH | Kills add Hopper Stacks; Action Skill grants random buffs scaled to the stack count, busting past 21 |
| Ultracapacitor | Harlowe | +10% skill damage per stack, up to 25 stacks, cleared when the Action Skill goes on cooldown |
| Wastelander | Amon | +1% damage per 1,000 max health and shields; melee damage cuts cooldowns by 1 second |
How to repeat a boss fight for drops
If a boss is not spawning at all, it is almost always a progression gate rather than a bug. Lieutenant Harmony requires the five elite managers to be dealt with first, Digi-Rift bosses such as Logistics Manager Reyes need you to enter the rift from Vinechoked Canopy, and mission-locked weapons like the Avarice will not appear until “Pay to Play” is complete.
