The Havoc sits at the very top of the WARDOGS air roster. It is a two-seat attack helicopter built by ROC AE, armed with B-13 Rocket Pods and a 2A42 Autocannon, and it is the most expensive vehicle the vendor sells. Getting one is less about flying skill and more about two numbers: a Pilot level and a very large one-time payment.
Quick answer: The Havoc needs Pilot level 35 plus a one-time $500,000 unlock fee. After that, each one costs $18,000 at the vehicle vendor in your faction’s safe zone.

Havoc unlock requirements and price in WARDOGS
| Detail | Value |
|---|---|
| Category | Combat Helicopter |
| Role and level | Pilot 35 |
| One-time unlock fee | $500,000 |
| Purchase price | $18,000 |
| Top speed | 400 km/h |
| Fuel | 130 L, 4.4 L/km |
| Seats | 2 |
Two things make that fee hurt. Cash carries over between matches, so every airframe you lose comes straight out of the pile you are building toward the unlock. And a fresh account starts with $10,000, which is not even enough for a single Havoc purchase once you do own it.
Paying the unlock fee does not make the helicopter free. You still pay the $18,000 price every single time you buy one from the vendor.

Pilot progression is its own track. Driver levels and Wardog levels do nothing for aircraft, so the only way to move toward the Havoc is time spent in a cockpit. These are the armed rotary options on the way up.
| Helicopter | Pilot level | Unlock fee | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| AH-6M [Miniguns] | 4 | $50,000 | $7,000 |
| AH-6R [Rockets] | 20 | $250,000 | $12,500 |
| Havoc | 35 | $500,000 | $18,000 |
AH-6M [Miniguns] is the workhorse of the grind. It is light, quick to respond, and cheap enough that losing one does not end your session. Destroying it pays the enemy $800, which is a fraction of what a Havoc kill is worth to them.
AH-6R [Rockets] is the same airframe with rocket pods bolted on. Same 350 km/h top speed, same 105 L tank, same 4.4 L/km burn, but nearly double the price. It is a step up in firepower rather than a step up in handling.
If you would rather bank Pilot XP without carrying a gun, the UH-1Y air transport opens at Pilot level 10 and costs $7,400. Every helicopter in the game is bought from the vehicle vendor at your faction’s safe zone. None of them are ever placed in the world during a match.
How to earn Pilot XP and cash fastest
Ferrying people pays better than fighting. Pilot XP and cash both come from moving teammates toward the action and having them live long enough to do something with it.
L to set who can board. The lock toggles between squad-only access and open access for everyone on your team, and an open cabin fills faster.
On top of the drop payment and survival bonus, you also collect tips from passengers and a cut of kill assists. Run the loop repeatedly and the Pilot levels come in alongside the cash you need for the unlock fee.
Helicopter controls and flight settings to set first
Climb and tilt live on separate inputs, and new pilots crash because they fire both at once. The collective is your throttle, and the HUD at the bottom of the screen shows collective input, roll, pitch attitude, airspeed, and altitude above both terrain and sea level.
| Action | Default key |
|---|---|
| Interact / start engine | F |
| Collective lift | Left Shift |
| Collective descent | Left Ctrl |
| Free look | Alt |
| Toggle camera | C |
| Change seat | 0 |
| Deploy flares | V |
| Lock / unlock vehicle | L |

Vehicle sensitivity is a separate slider from your infantry sensitivity and sits in its own settings menu. An on-foot number tuned for flicking onto a torso turns every small hover correction into an over-correction, so set it before your first flight.
Mouse flight settings
- Rotary Vehicle Mouse Control: Enabled
- Heli Mouse Swipe Left/Right: Yaw
- Heli Mouse Swipe Up/Down: Pitch
- Heli Mouse Pitch Sens: 80%
- Heli Mouse Yaw Sens: 80%
- Heli Mouse Axis Isolation: 70%

The game also ships flight assists that are on by default. Stability Assist dampens pitch, roll, and yaw, Auto-Hover Assist holds a hover when the collective returns to neutral, and Envelope Limits caps extreme attitudes. Leaving them on while you learn is the sane choice.
The practice range costs nothing. Crash there instead of losing an airframe plus everyone riding in it.
Surviving anti-air once you own the Havoc
A destroyed Havoc pays the enemy a base $6,000, and that figure climbs by 120% inside a Control Zone and 130% in a Hot Zone. You are a payday with rotors, and the other faction knows it.
Buy countermeasure flares from the base vendor before you launch, then use free look to spot an incoming missile and press V to deploy. Timing is tight, and missing the first few is normal.

The Havoc’s armor is heavily slanted toward small arms. Bullet damage is reduced by 95% and 122mm rockets by 85%, but explosive drones increase incoming damage by 450%, anti-tank mines by 200%, and 120mm rockets by 150%. Treat drones and dedicated anti-air as hard threats, not nuisances.
How to confirm the Havoc unlock worked
Open the vehicle vendor in your faction’s safe zone and switch to the AIR tab. Before the unlock, the Havoc tile displays its requirement. Once you have hit Pilot level 35 and paid the $500,000, the requirement disappears from the tile and the helicopter becomes a normal purchase at its listed price.
From there it is a straight cash transaction every match. Whether that is worth it depends less on the airframe and more on your bank balance: an $18,000 helicopter that dies to a single drone on the way to the objective is a very expensive taxi ride.
