Marvel’s Wolverine gives you five combat difficulties and a deep set of accessibility sliders, so it is fair to worry that picking an easier setting might block a reward. It does not. The trophy list is built entirely around story progress, collectibles, and a handful of combat and interaction objectives, none of which are gated behind a specific difficulty.
Quick answer: There are no difficulty trophies in Marvel’s Wolverine. You can earn all 42 trophies, including the Platinum, on the lowest setting, “The Man”, where Wolverine cannot be knocked out.

Difficulty has no effect on trophies
The Platinum, “I’m The Best There Is…”, unlocks after you collect the other 41 trophies. None of those 41 requires a hard difficulty, a “brutal” clear, or any hidden hard-mode reward. There is no secret trophy or suit tied to finishing on the toughest setting, and choosing an easier one does not lock anything out.
The full set is 42 trophies: 1 Platinum, 4 Gold, 9 Silver, and 28 Bronze. All are offline, none are missable, and none are known to glitch. The estimated Platinum difficulty sits around 2/10, with roughly 15–20 hours needed and only one playthrough required.
Playing on “The Man” acts like a godmode because you cannot be knocked out, which removes almost all combat pressure while you focus on collectibles and objective-based trophies.

Each preset sets three values out of ten: Aggressiveness (how often enemies attack without pausing), Damage (how much health you lose per hit), and Health (how many hits enemies take before dying).
| Difficulty | Aggr. | Dmg. | Health |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Man | 2 | 2 | 3 |
| The Hunter | 4 | 3 | 4 |
| The Mutant | 5 | 5 | 5 |
| The Weapon | 6 | 7 | 7 |
| The Best There Is | 7 | 9 | 8 |
“The Man” is aimed at minimal combat challenge and prevents knockouts. “The Hunter” is for enjoying the story, while “The Mutant” is the developer-intended, balanced setting recommended for most players. “The Weapon” and “The Best There Is” ramp up damage and health for players who want a harder fight.
You can change difficulty at any time
Because difficulty never touches trophy progress, you are free to raise or lower it whenever you like. Open the pause menu, go to “Settings”, then “Gameplay”, and adjust “Challenge Level”. You can mix and match individual values rather than sticking to a single preset.
The Challenge Level controls enemy health, incoming and outgoing damage, stealth awareness, and the timing windows for dodges and parries. Separate accessibility options let you slow the game’s global and combat speeds for more reaction time, and that slowdown does not affect dialogue or cutscenes.

What the Platinum actually requires
Instead of difficulty, the trophy list rewards thorough exploration and completion. The bulk of the work is finding every collectible and finishing the story, with the rest coming from specific combat and interaction objectives.
- Complete the main story across all missions.
- Collect all 102 items: 68 Material Crates, 20 Whisky Bottles, and 14 Nightmare Doors.
- Reach Player Level 36 and Adaptation Level 10.
- Craft 20 standard suits to fully upgrade health (DLC suits do not count).
- Clear combat objectives like 100 Helix Claw kills, 75 Tornado Spin kills, 500 parries, and 100 XP Caches.
- Unlock the hidden memory via the secret 15th Nightmare Trial after the story.
Nothing here is time-limited or permanently missable. After the credits you return to the Nightmare Cabin, where you can interact with the bed to replay any mission through Mission Select. Collectibles carry over between replays, so you can clean up anything you skipped, and New Game Plus exists but is not needed for any trophy.

How to confirm the setting is safe
You can verify this yourself as you play. Story trophies keep popping mission after mission regardless of the Challenge Level you set, and collectible and combat counters advance on “The Man” exactly as they would on “The Best There Is”. If you finish the story and clean up the remaining collectibles and objectives, the Platinum unlocks on any difficulty you chose, so pick the setting you enjoy most.
