Black Flash V2, listed in-game as Black Flash II, is an upgrade to the existing Black Flash fighting style in KAIZEN rather than a separate style you can buy outright. That means the entire path runs through Black Flash V1 first, followed by a long mastery grind and a paid trial against a boss.
Quick answer: Equip Black Flash V1, reach mastery level 500, land 250 passive Black Flashes, then pay 100,000 Yen to the Black Flash Master in East Shibuya and defeat the S Grade Sorcerer.
Black Flash V2 requirements in KAIZEN
The Black Flash Master NPC holds a checklist with three conditions. All three must be green before the trial becomes available, and there is no way to pay past them.
- Black Flash V1 must be your equipped fighting style.
- Black Flash V1 mastery must sit at level 500.
- You must land 250 passive Black Flashes with basic M1 attacks.
- You need 100,000 Yen on hand for the trial entry fee.
Passive Black Flashes are the random proc on your normal punch combo, not your skill buttons. Using Z, X or C does not add to the 250 counter.

Crafting the base style costs 9 Black Flash Essence and 400,000 Yen. The essence only comes from one place, which makes this the slowest early stage for most players.
The boss keeps its damage progress if you die and return, so a wipe does not reset the fight.

Black Flash V1 runs three active moves alongside the passive proc on your M1 chain.
| Key | Black Flash V1 | Black Flash II |
|---|---|---|
| Z | Ground Breaker | Dash Kick |
| X | Gut Punch | Heel Smash |
| C | Leap Smash | Final Impact |
Black Flash Master NPC location in East Shibuya
The V2 trainer is not the same NPC who sold you the style. Cross the bridge to the east side of Shibuya and follow the street until you find the Black Flash Master standing beside a vending machine. Talking to him opens the requirement checklist, which is worth doing early so you can watch your own progress instead of guessing.

How to grind 250 passive Black Flashes
This is the part that eats the most time, and target choice decides how long it takes. The proc is random per M1 hit, so you want enemies that survive long enough for you to throw hundreds of punches.
- Wailing Titan NPCs under the bridge in East Shibuya are the best targets thanks to their high HP.
- Training dummies at the academy do not count toward the 250 total at all.
- Low-level mobs such as Mutated Mushrooms die before the passive has a chance to fire.
- Being in the Itadori clan raises how often the passive triggers, which noticeably shortens the grind.
Mastery level 500 and the 250 flashes tend to fill in parallel, since both come from hitting things with the style equipped. If mastery lags behind, the Wailing Titans handle that too.

The Awakening Trial and the S Grade Sorcerer boss

Confirming Black Flash II unlocked
When the S Grade Sorcerer dies, a NEW! Fighting Style Unlocked – Black Flash II banner appears along with a mission completed notice. Open your fighting style menu and the entry should now read Black Flash II, with Dash Kick, Heel Smash and Final Impact replacing the old V1 moveset on Z, X and C.
The passive proc on basic attacks carries over, so the upgrade changes what your skill buttons do rather than how the style fundamentally plays. If the banner does not appear, the trial has not been cleared, and you can re-enter through the Black Flash Master for the same fee.
