Crimson Desert: How to Go Meet the Witch in The Missing Seal

The objective has no map marker until you track a Witches faction quest, and here is exactly where it leads.

The objective has no map marker until you track a Witches faction quest, and here is exactly where it leads.

The Missing Seal is the Chapter 5 main quest that starts the moment the magic holding White Crow’s letter closed finally fades. Reading the letter is simple. The second objective, Go meet the witch, is where most players stall, because the game never drops a waypoint for it.

Quick answer: Open the Journal, switch to Faction Quests, pick Witches under Hernand, and track The Witch of Wisdom. The marker then appears at Meshley Trapsmith in The Witchwoods.

Why the witch objective has no map marker

This is the first point in the story where a faction quest gates the main plot. After you read the Unsealed letter from your inventory, a small notification fires in the top-left corner explaining that some main quests need side content finished first. It is easy to miss while the letter text is still on screen, and once it disappears the quest tracker just says to meet the witch with nothing to follow.

The faction quest doing the work here is The Witch of Wisdom, run by the Witches faction in Hernand. Its first step is what actually places the marker on your map.

Track The Witch of Wisdom to reveal the marker

Open your inventory and read the Unsealed letter, the purple key item. Examine it, then hold the confirm input to read the full text from White Crow.
Open the Journal and move to the Faction Quests tab. Under the Hernand section, look for the Witches category with the red icon.
Select The Witch of Wisdom and set it as your tracked quest. The objective reads “Examine the house,” and a waypoint now shows up on both the world map and the mini-map.

Where to find the witch: Meshley Trapsmith in The Witchwoods

The marker lands on Meshley Trapsmith, a small trap-crafting workshop belonging to House Roberts, tucked into The Witchwoods inside the Alfonso Estate area of Hernand. It sits slightly east of the Scholaship Institute, right off a muddy forest road.

Riding there is fine if you are close. Setting off from Hernand Town puts the objective a little over 1,200 meters away, which is a short horse ride along the forest path. There are two faster options if you have unlocked them.

  • The sky fast travel point activated during Obsession and Madness. Press R3 or the right stick on the map to travel there, then skydive straight down to the marker.
  • The Abyss Nexus near The Witchwoods. From that landing point, head southeast to reach the workshop.

Clear the bandits and untie Tanya

Approach the workshop and deal with the bandits camped outside. Three of them are there to loot the place, and they attack as soon as you get close.
Move to the house on the right, where a woman is screaming. The front door is locked unless you have the key, so climb up and drop in through the open roof window instead.

Spikes shoot out of the entrance of the house. Going in through the roof avoids that trap entirely.

Inside, untie the girl named Tanya by holding L1 + X or LB + A. She thanks you, wishes wisdom on your path, and vanishes, which pushes the quest to its next objective.
Before you leave, grab the Abyss Artifact sitting on the table. It is easy to walk past once the conversation ends.

Speak to Elowen and close out the objective

The marker now moves a short distance north-west, deeper into The Witchwoods, to the Witch’s House. It is a small stone building with a turret, surrounded by flowers. If the Abyss Nexus is available, you can teleport close and walk the rest.

Go inside and talk to Elowen, the Witch of Wisdom. Look directly at her and press L1 + Square or LB + X, then choose the Listen to Request dialogue option. She explains she has been expecting you and asks for help restoring four fallen sanctuaries, the Sanctum of Temperance, the Sanctum of Penitence, the Sanctum of Benediction, and the Sanctum of Absolution.

You know it worked when the objective clears, The Missing Seal is marked complete in your journal, and the four sanctum restoration quests appear. The story then continues into Crowcaller.
