The Gold Exchange is the only place in Wardogs where match cash becomes gold bars, and it is buried two screens deep in the Black Market rather than sitting on the main menu. In the Early Access v0.0.1 build it is also the only part of the Black Market that is switched on, which is why it can be hard to find if you go looking for a standalone store button.
Quick answer: From the main menu, open the BLACK MARKET tab, choose GOLD MARKET, then click GOLD EXCHANGE in the top-right corner. That panel converts your cash into gold bars at the day’s rate.

The panel is built around a chart of what one gold bar has cost over time. Five range buttons sit above it, and each one redraws the same line over a different window.
- 1W — the last week, the most useful view for a same-session decision.
- 1M — one month of daily prices.
- 6M and 12M — longer trends.
- ALL — every price the exchange has recorded.
Below the chart the panel prints the current quote in plain text, in the form $2,113,114 = 1 GOLD BAR, with the date it applies to. You set the amount of cash you want to convert, then confirm with EXCHANGE or back out with CANCEL. Nothing is deducted until you confirm.

You know the conversion landed when the cash total in the menu header drops by the amount you spent and your gold bar balance rises. Bars you obtain through the Black Market are held in your personal vault.
How the cash-to-gold rate works
There is one price per day, it applies to everybody, and it rolls over at midnight UTC. That makes it a price rather than a fixed conversion, so the same $2 million buys a different number of bars depending on the day you log in. On 15 September the exchange quoted $2,113,114 for a single gold bar. Movement between days has been large in Early Access, not a slow drift.
Bulkhead has not published how the daily number is set, so the history chart in the panel is the only reference you have. The 1W view is the quickest way to see whether the line is falling into a cheaper day or climbing away from one.
The conversion runs one way. The exchange’s own text states that gold bar exchanges cannot be resold or refunded, so bars never turn back into cash.
Exchange cash earned in matches for Gold Bars – WARDOGS endgame currency. Gold bars can then be used to obtain cosmetics in the Gold Market. Exchange rates of gold vary so timing your exchange is key for maximizing return on investment.
What gold bars buy in the Gold Market
Gold bars are a cosmetic currency. They buy weapon skins, vehicle and parachute skins, and emotes, and every unlock is permanent on your account. There are 20 listings in the Gold Market, spread across four price points.
| Listing | Type | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Black & Gold AK74 | Weapon skin | 30 bars |
| Digital Wood Sport Parachute | Parachute skin | 15 bars |
| Two Tone Desert AMR 50 | Weapon skin | 15 bars |
| Two Tone Desert M249 SAW | Weapon skin | 15 bars |
| Two Tone Desert MH-6 | Vehicle skin | 15 bars |
| Digital Wood M4 | Weapon skin | 10 bars |
| Digital Wood SV98 | Weapon skin | 10 bars |
| Two Tone Desert AMP-9 | Weapon skin | 10 bars |
| Two Tone Desert M4 | Weapon skin | 10 bars |
| Two Tone Desert M500 | Weapon skin | 10 bars |
| Two Tone Desert Dune Buggy | Vehicle skin | 10 bars |

The Black & Gold AK74 is the single most expensive listing at double the next tier, and it is the only skin in its set. The AK74 itself is an assault rifle chambered in 5.45x39mm, firing at 650 rounds per minute for 26.0 damage a shot, and it unlocks at Assault level 3 for a one-time fee of $10,000.
To work out what any listing costs in cash, multiply its bar price by the day’s quote. That is why the timing of your conversion matters more than the order you buy things in.
Season resets, and why cash does not last
Cash is the perishable half of the economy. At the end of a major update cycle your level progression and cash both reset, and any cash still sitting in your account is automatically exchanged for gold bars at whatever rate applies that day. Bulkhead has said reset dates are announced in advance. No date for the next one is currently confirmed.
- Gold bars — kept permanently on your account.
- Cosmetics bought in the Gold Market — kept permanently.
- Cash — reset, auto-converted to bars rather than deleted.
- Level progression — reset with the cycle.
Gold bars cannot be bought with real money. Bulkhead’s position is that it will never monetise in-game gold bars and that they must be earned through play.
Nothing is lost by sitting on cash for a day or two, since the reset converts it either way. What you give up by waiting too long is the choice of rate, because the game will eventually pick one for you.
