Stellar Wiring is one of the Secret-rarity catches added with the Astral Observatory content in Fisch, and it only exists in a single pool of water hidden under Snowcap Island. There is no quest chain and no crafting recipe behind it. You need a way inside the cavern, the right bait, and the patience to wait out a specific weather and time combination.
Quick answer: Fish the pool inside the Snowcap Island – Astral Cavern, which you open with a Blue Moon Totem, using Magnet bait at night during foggy weather with luck boosts active.
Stellar Wiring stats, location, and sell value
Stellar Wiring is classified as a fish despite being a bundle of superconducting cable. Its bestiary entry describes it as conductive wire built to carry star mapping data, and its hint points straight at the method that works: dredged up with a magnet during night fog. It belongs to the Astral Observatory bestiary, which spans six hidden areas across the map.
| Attribute | Value |
|---|---|
| Rarity | Secret (chance rises with luck) |
| Location | Snowcap Island – Astral Cavern |
| Bestiary | Astral Observatory |
| Source | Fishing Rod |
| Resilience | 2 (Extreme) |
| XP | 14,500 |
| Sell rate | 1,100 C$ per kg |
Weight determines the payout, and the natural range is fairly wide. These figures assume no external weight boosts.
| Tier | Weight | Sell value |
|---|---|---|
| Minimum | 2kg | 2,200 C$ |
| Average | 3.5kg | 3,850 C$ |
| Base | 5kg | 5,500 C$ |
| Maximum | 10.5kg | 11,550 C$ |
Stellar Wiring arrived in version 1.98.0 and was worth considerably more at launch. Version 1.98.2.1 cut its rate from 4,600 C$ per kg down to the current 1,100 C$, so older value estimates you may have seen no longer apply.

Add to Google Preferences →Catch conditions: Magnet bait, night, and foggy weather
Every preference stacks in your favour here, and skipping one makes an already rare catch much rarer. Line these up before you start casting.
- Bait: Magnet. This is the preferred bait and the one the bestiary hint calls out directly.
- Weather: Foggy.
- Time: Night.
- Season: none — no seasonal window to wait for.
- Luck: an Aurora Totem, or any other luck source you carry, since Secret catches scale with luck.
Weather totems matter in both directions. A totem that clears the sky will strip the fog you actually want, so keep any clear-weather items out of your hands while you are grinding this one.

Resilience 2 puts Stellar Wiring in the Extreme bracket, so the reeling minigame will fight you. A high-level rod with strong control is the difference between hooking it and watching the bar drain.
How to reach the Snowcap Island Astral Cavern
The cavern sits behind a sealed moon door on the island’s cliffs. You cannot brute-force it — the door only responds to one item.

Fishing the cavern pool
Inside, there is only one thing to do: cast into the pool and keep casting. Equip Magnet bait, confirm it is still on the hook between catches, and pop an Aurora Totem for luck before you settle into a rhythm.
The same water holds the rest of the Snowcap Astral Cavern lineup, so most casts will bring up something else on the way. Expect Brinicle, Northern Krill, Crescent Fish, Moon Jellyfish, Fairy Penguin, and Frozen Glass alongside your Stellar Wiring attempts. Those are the catches you will see while the Secret one refuses to bite.
Of the six Astral Observatory areas, Snowcap Island has the largest catch table at seven entries, which spreads your odds thinner. Luck boosts are doing more work here than in the smaller caverns.
How to confirm you caught Stellar Wiring
The catch banner names the item and its weight outright, in the form of a message reading “You just caught a Stellar Wiring at 4.4kg!” along with the bestiary counter. On your first one, a “Bestiary: New Catch!” notification fires as well, which permanently logs it in your Astral Observatory collection.
Your character also shouts one of three lines on the catch, any of which confirms it landed:
- STELLAR WIRING!
- SUPERCONDUCTING DATA CABLES!
- CONNECTED TO THE CELESTIAL ARRAY!
Once it is logged, the entry stays in your bestiary regardless of whether you sell the catch. If you are chasing weight rather than the entry, keep fishing the same pool under the same night-and-fog conditions — a 10.5kg pull is worth more than five times a minimum-weight one.
