Rainstorm Luminelle is one of the trickier Aniimo to add to your Aniilog, not because it is hard to fight, but because it refuses to exist until the weather cooperates. It is a variant of the standard Luminelle, a floating jellyfish-like Nova stage creature, and it sits in a single cave on the coast rather than roaming the open map.
Quick answer: Wait for rain or a thunderstorm, then head to the cave on the small island off Tideblossom Coast at coordinates -0116, 0051 and catch the Luminelle inside from behind.
Weather requirement: rain or thunderstorm only
The Rainstorm form does not share a spawn table with the regular Luminelle. It appears only while the in-game weather is a rainstorm or thunderstorm, and it disappears from the world once conditions clear. Clear skies or night cycles do nothing for it, since night is the trigger for the basic form instead.
Only one Rainstorm Luminelle spawns per rainy weather cycle. If you catch it, or scare it off and lose it, you have to wait for the next storm before another one turns up in the same cave.
Once the rain starts, open your map before travelling. The spawn point is flagged there, which saves you sweeping the shoreline on foot while the storm timer runs down.

The cave sits on a small island off Tideblossom Coast, just south of Tidebound Grotto, within the Breezy Plains stretch of the map. The entrance is a dark opening at the base of a large rock formation, reachable by following the shore around the island. Jack-o-Blossom Glade and the Sea of Flowers are nearby map labels if you are orienting yourself from a distance.

How to catch Rainstorm Luminelle

Since only one spawns per storm, a failed throw is worth avoiding. Bring the strongest capture item you can afford rather than chipping away with basic Anipods.
How to confirm the catch registered
A successful throw awards capture EXP straight away, and the Rainstorm form is added under Luminelle’s Aniilog listing as entry No. 79B, alongside the basic form (No. 79A) and the Prismana form (No. 79C). Open your Field Notes and look at the Luminelle page. The Rainstorm slot should now display its full profile, stats, and description rather than a locked silhouette.
There is no alternate route to this form. Rainstorm Luminelle cannot be obtained by evolving anything, so the cave catch is the only way the entry fills in.
Rainstorm Luminelle type, trait, and skills
Unlike the basic form, which is pure Lightning, the Rainstorm variant is a dual Lightning and Water Aniimo. It is a Nova stage creature in the Support role, and its Arc Surge trait gives teammates who receive its skill buff an extra 12 percent Lightning damage for 20 seconds.
- Water Rush — sustained water jet that drains enemy Energy and heals Water allies.
- Lightning Discharge — held beam that damages enemies and heals Lightning teammates.
- Healing Impact — held beam that restores HP to all allies in range.
- Swift Retreat — dashes back and leaves a jellyfish clone that slows targets.
- Self-Destruction — innate voltage build-up ending in a wide electric blast.
Its buffing skill, listed as Lightning Surge or Spotlight Moment depending on where you read it in-game, recharges allies and raises Lightning teammates’ basic attack damage and BREAK efficiency. Outside combat, its mobility skill Glow lights up the area above you, which is handy for the same dark caves you found it in.

Once it is in your roster, the Rainstorm form slots in as a healer-leaning support that pairs naturally with Lightning and Water teammates. Collecting the rest of Luminelle’s forms also pays off, since filling out a creature’s variant set grants a small stat bonus on its Aniilog entry.
