The Bulbly line is one of the more demanding Electric support chains in Aniimo, because the final step is gated behind a fight rather than a level-up alone. The chain runs through three stages, all of them Electric, all of them in the Support role, and all of them tied to the same stretch of coastline in Breezy Plains.

Quick answer: Bulbly evolves into Veilfloat at Aniimo level 42. Veilfloat evolves into Luminelle at Aniimo level 52, but only after you defeat the Alpha Luminelle, and it costs Roar Stone x1.

Bulbly evolution requirements (levels, unlock, and items)

EvolutionLevelOther requirements
Bulbly → Veilfloat42None
Veilfloat → Luminelle52Defeat the Alpha Luminelle; Roar Stone x1

Those are the only two evolutions in the family. Luminelle sits at the end of the chain and has nothing further to evolve into, so once you reach it, the line is complete.

The Alpha Luminelle kill is an unlock, not a consumable. Beating it once opens the second evolution; the level and the stone are what you still have to supply for each Veilfloat you want to push forward.

Where to find Bulbly in Tideblossom Coast

Bulbly lives at Tideblossom Coast in the Breezy Plains region, and it shows up at night. It is a small creature, half a metre tall and 12kg, and it bolts the moment it notices you, so close the distance before it starts drifting away. Its bulb doubles as a health readout, flashing red when the creature is low.

Every stage of the family shares that habitat, so you do not need to travel anywhere else to finish the chain. Wild Veilfloat and Luminelle both appear along the same coast, which matters if you would rather catch a later stage outright than raise one from scratch.

How to evolve Bulbly into Veilfloat and Luminelle

Catch a Bulbly at Tideblossom Coast after dark. It is dex No. 77 and carries the Support role from the moment you get it, so it can sit in your team while it levels.
Raise it to Aniimo level 42. There is no item cost and no side condition here — hitting the level is the whole requirement, and the evolution into Veilfloat becomes available immediately.

Defeat the Alpha Luminelle. Until that fight is done, the final evolution stays locked no matter how high your Veilfloat’s level climbs.
Bring Veilfloat to Aniimo level 52 and spend Roar Stone x1 to finish the evolution. The result is Luminelle, dex No. 79, at 1.1m and 18kg.

You can confirm the evolution took by checking the Aniilog. Bulbly occupies No. 77, Veilfloat No. 78, and Luminelle No. 79, so the creature moves to the next entry, the name and model change, and the base stats jump to the values below.

Magic Attack6893115

Magic Defense637475

The big movement is on offense. Attack and Magic Attack both climb by 47 points across the two evolutions, while the defensive stats creep up slowly and EP Regen never changes at all. That flat regen is why the line stays usable as a support even at stage one — the skill economy is identical from Bulbly to Luminelle.

Skills at each stage of the line

Bulbly and Veilfloat share the same three-skill kit, so nothing you learn at stage one goes to waste. Luminelle keeps all of it and adds Lightning Surge and Self-Destruction on top.

Swift Retreat20531s
Lightning Discharge102010s
Lightning Surge0Buff18s
Self-Destruction0808s

Lightning Discharge is the workhorse. Hold the skill button and it keeps firing an energy beam, damaging everything in range while healing Lightning-type teammates for 2% HP per second. Swift Retreat is the escape tool, pulling the creature backwards and leaving a jellyfish clone that fires off a wave of Lightning energy and slows targets by 15% for 10 seconds.

Lightning Surge is a pure team buff with no damage attached. It channels energy into your allies, raising the basic attack damage and BREAK efficiency of Lightning-type teammates for 20 seconds. Self-Destruction is the opposite end of the kit — it winds up voltage until it explodes for wide-area damage and leaves an electric field underfoot that increases Lightning Elemental Boost for 30 seconds.

Two skills in Luminelle’s pool are form-locked. Water Rush belongs to the Rainstorm Form only, and Healing Impact belongs to Prismana only. A base-form Luminelle will never have either one.

Luminelle Rainstorm Form and Prismana Form

Both alternate forms keep Luminelle’s base stats, its Support role, and its Tideblossom Coast habitat — what changes is the element pairing and the extra skill each one brings.

  • Rainstorm Form: Electric and Water, element level 3, and the only form with Water Rush.
  • Prismana: Electric and Holy, element level 4, and the only form with Healing Impact.

The Rainstorm Form leans on moisture to survive. Its skin is extremely thin, and its body holds so much water that the slightest knock makes it seep from the eyes, which is where the permanently-crying look comes from.

Prismana is the healing variant. Prismatic energy strengthens the electrical organ on its head, letting it convert stored electricity into a gentle light that mends injured teammates — which is exactly what Healing Impact does, firing a Holy-element beam that damages enemies in range while restoring 2% HP per second to allies. Hold it for three seconds and it also clears negative status effects on itself.

Aniilog records to log along the way

Each stage has its own log entries, and several of them are easiest to tick off while you are already grinding levels for the evolution.

  • Find a Bulbly flashing red at low HP.
  • Take a photo of Bulbly flashing in turns.
  • Complete the quest Is That a… Lighthouse? and return to Sayn.
  • Twine with Veilfloat and use Glow near Flutternym.
  • Photograph the meteors parading through the sky.
  • Encounter a Prismana Form Luminelle.
  • Witness the Alpha Luminelle releasing its fully charged Ultimate.

The last one pairs naturally with the unlock fight — you have to beat the Alpha Luminelle anyway, so hold off on bursting it down and let the Ultimate go off first. Reporting a Luminelle pays out Credits (100), and releasing one returns Growth Flower (2).

Electric matchups for the Bulbly line

Electric attacks deal 1.6x damage to Water and Wind, and only 0.625x to Electric, Ice, and Rock. Everything else takes normal damage. That makes the whole family a poor pick into Ice and Rock encounters, and a strong one against coastal Water targets — convenient, given where they live.

Keep in mind that Lightning Discharge and Lightning Surge both key off Lightning-type teammates, so Luminelle pays off most on a team built around its own element rather than dropped into a mixed roster. Raise one to level 52, clear the Alpha fight, and the support half of an Electric team basically solves itself.
