Cubbo is the sleepy little bear of the Breezy Plains, and it turns into Grizbo, a Rock-element DPS that builds Rage and punishes anything that stacks Claw Mark. There is only one evolution in the family, and it has a hard gate attached to it: an Alpha fight you have to win before the option appears at all.

Quick answer: Defeat the Alpha Grizbo to unlock the evolution, raise Cubbo to Aniimo level 47, then spend Loam Stone x1 to evolve it into Grizbo.

Cubbo to Grizbo evolution requirements

Three things gate the evolution, and all of them have to be satisfied at the same time. The Alpha fight is a one-time unlock tied to the species, not to the individual Cubbo you are raising, so you only need to clear it once.

Nothing else is needed. There is no second evolution after Grizbo, and no branching path from Cubbo, so once the bear reaches stage 3 the line is finished.

Where to find Cubbo and Grizbo

Both forms share one habitat: Rosetower Woods, in the Breezy Plains region. The area runs from level 43 to 50, which lines up neatly with the level 47 evolution threshold. It also holds 92 chests, 43 ecological points, 13 lumin amber, six pathfinder challenges, four lumin collections, three blooms, and a bonfire, so it is worth clearing properly while you level your Cubbo there.

Since Cubbo caps out in the same zone it evolves in, you can farm the level 43–50 range and the Alpha fight without ever leaving the woods.

How to evolve Cubbo

Catch a Cubbo in Rosetower Woods. It is dex number 68, a stage 1 Rock DPS standing 0.8m tall and weighing 6kg, so it is easy to spot next to anything else in the zone.
Track down and beat the Alpha Grizbo. Until that fight is cleared, the evolution entry stays locked no matter how high your Cubbo’s level climbs.
Level the Cubbo to 47. The surrounding encounters in Rosetower Woods sit in that bracket, so grinding in place is the cleanest route.
Open the Cubbo’s detail page, select the evolution option, and pay Loam Stone x1 to confirm.

You will know it worked when the entry flips to Grizbo at dex number 69, stage 3, with height jumping to 1.85m and weight to 20kg. Its base stats climb across the board, and the skill list grows to include Critical Hit and Rock Smash on top of the moves Cubbo already had.

Cubbo and Grizbo base stats

The evolution is a straight upgrade with no trade-offs. Every stat goes up, and the element level rises from 1 to 3.

Both share the DPS role and the Rock element, and both use Head Hammer as their mobility skill, which delivers a powerful impact and releases a Shock Wave that knocks the target back for 20 EP.

Grizbo’s Claw Mark loop

Grizbo’s damage does not come from raw skill power. It comes from stacking Claw Mark while Enraged, then cashing every stack in with a single finisher.

  • Fanatic Clawing (Rock, 10 EP, 30 power) claws up to three times; the third hit doubles Rage on your next skill, and while Enraged each hit applies 2 stacks, up to 6.
  • Earthquake (Rock, 38 power) stomps the ground, clears every Claw Mark on the target, and adds damage equal to 10% of Might per stack.
  • Critical Hit (Rock, 30 EP, 90 power, 1s cooldown) removes all Claw Mark and converts each stack into 10% of Might as extra damage.
  • Rock Smash (Rock, 260 power) is Grizbo’s innate finisher.

One upgraded version of Critical Hit keeps 50% of the Claw Mark stack after damage resolves, which lets you start the next cycle without rebuilding from zero.

Prismana Grizbo, the alternate form

Grizbo (Prismana) is not something you evolve into. It is a separate form with the same 1.85m height, 20kg weight, and identical base stats, but it carries both Rock and Dark elements and an element level of 4. It also lives in Rosetower Woods.

Its exclusive move is Claw of Madness, a Dark skill costing 10 EP with 30 power. It claws up to four times, doubles Rage on the next skill when the fourth hit lands, and while Enraged applies 2/2/2/6 stacks of Claw Mark for a ceiling of 12 — double what Fanatic Clawing can reach. The base forms do not learn it. Registering the Prismana form pays out Growth Flower (2), and reporting the sighting gives 100 Credits.

Rock and Dark damage multipliers

Rock attacks deal 1.6x damage to Fire and Ice, and only 0.625x to Dark, Grass, Rock, and Water. Everything else takes normal damage, which means a Rock-only Grizbo has a narrow window where it shines and a wide band of resistances to work around.

The Prismana form’s Dark coverage fills part of that gap. Dark attacks deal 1.6x to Electric, Grass, and Holy, and 0.625x to Water and Wind. Pairing Claw of Madness with the Rock kit gives you an answer to Grass targets that Rock skills would otherwise struggle against.

Once Grizbo is on your team, the routine settles quickly: build Rage, stack Claw Mark while Enraged, then dump it all into Critical Hit or Earthquake before the 20-second window closes.
