Aniimo: How to Get the Emberpup Mountain Woods Form

The golden-tipped Fire variant spawns in one habitat only, and evolving it means returning there during the day.

Emberpup shows up almost everywhere in Idyll, but the Mountain Woods version does not. It is the No. 1C entry in the Aniilog, a Fire-element DPS at Lumin stage, and it is tied to a single habitat on the western side of the Breezy Plains map. If you have been sweeping every Emberpup marker hoping one of them turns golden, you are farming the wrong pins.

Quick answer: Mountain Woods Emberpup only spawns in Beast Fang Ridge in Breezy Plains. Travel to coordinates -1212, 1243 and catch one from the pack on the purple-flowered hillside.

Mountain Woods Emberpup location in Beast Fang Ridge

Beast Fang Ridge sits on the left side of the Breezy Plains region map, and the Emberpups there sit between Lv. 41 and Lv. 47. That is a high-level zone for a first-stage creature, so bring a team that can survive the trip rather than one that is still leveling.

Open the world map and switch to the Breezy Plains region. Beast Fang Ridge is the ridge area toward the western edge of the landmass.
Use the Aniimo habitat filter and pick Emberpup, then select the Mountain Woods Form rather than the Basic Form. The map redraws to show only that variant’s habitat, which leaves Beast Fang Ridge as the single highlighted zone.

Zoom in on the yellow spawn grid. The densest cluster is centered on -1212, 1243, so set your marker there and take the nearest transporter or bonfire to cut the run short.

Explore the grassy slope blanketed with purple flowers. Multiple Emberpups can be there simultaneously; because their world name tags just say “Emberpup,” verify the model instead.

How to tell the three Emberpup forms apart

All three share the same species name, so habitat is the fastest way to know which one you are looking at. The Mountain Woods version has warm golden-yellow tips on its fur that trail light as it runs, and the fur at its ear tips flickers like two small flames.

Beast Fang Ridge carries both the Basic and Mountain Woods records, which is why the habitat filter matters before you start swinging. Highland is the only one of the three that changes the element line, so if you wanted extra Rock coverage, this is not the form to farm.

Catching one on the hillside

Nothing exotic is required here. It is an ordinary wild catch, and the pack size means you can fail a few times without walking away empty-handed.

  • Base catch chance is 50%.
  • Breaking the target multiplies the catch rate by 1.5.
  • A backstab also multiplies it by 1.5.
  • Emberpup sleeps at night, which makes approaching from behind easier.
  • Nature rolls as Cheerful 50%, Gentle 30%, or Aloof 20%.
  • Sparkling variants appear at a base rate of 1 in 20,000.

Fire is weak to Water and Earth, so bring one of those to strip its health bar quickly, then break it before you throw. Once caught, it arrives with the Scorching Flames trait, which adds 25% damage against elementally countered targets, plus the Hustle mobility skill for sprinting.

Confirming you got the right variant

Open the Aniilog and look at entry No. 1C. The Mountain Woods slot sits directly after Highland Emberpup and before Flameruff, and it fills in only once you have the correct form registered. The profile lists Fire, DPS, and Lumin stage, with the description about golden-yellow fur tips leaving traces of sunshine.

A Basic Emberpup caught in the same zone fills the No. 1A slot instead. If 1C is still greyed out after a catch, you grabbed the wrong model and need to go back to the hillside.

Evolving Mountain Woods Emberpup

The form carries through the whole line, so the Aniimo you caught becomes Mountain Woods Flameruff and then Mountain Woods Scorchhowl. Both evolutions are location-gated to the same zone and both require daytime, which means you are coming back to Beast Fang Ridge twice. Rest at a bonfire with the Pathfinder if you arrive at night.

Defeating the Alpha Scorchhowl merely unlocks the destination. Your copy must also meet the level requirement, be in the correct zone during the proper time of day, and pay the stones. Open the live evolution screen to check the exact cost before committing to a farming run.

For most players this is a collection target rather than a combat upgrade, since Mountain Woods keeps the same Fire DPS job as the Basic record. The practical payoff is the Aniilog slot and the golden coat, and both of them start and end on one hillside at -1212, 1243.
