Silent Hill Townfall: How to Unlock the Blue Box in Shorefront

The small blue metal boxes scattered around St. Amelia are the closest thing Shorefront has to a supply cache. They hold healing items and the IV components that bring Simon back after lethal damage, and none of them open without a Lock Box Key. The first one you can reach sits on a coffee table in the same apartment building where the chain starts.

Quick answer: Take the 21 Farrow St. – Back Door Key from Building 16 upstairs, unlock the blue door at Jess’s House, grab the Lock Box Key from the kitchen drawer, then open the box back in Building 16.

The two keys involved

Opening a blue box is a two-key job. One key gets you into the house, the other opens the container, and only one of them survives the trip.

The Lock Box Key is a one-time consumable. It disappears the moment a box pops open, so a second box means a second key.

How to get the Lock Box Key in Shorefront

The whole loop is short. You cross one street twice, and the only real obstacle is the creature patrolling the gardens behind Farrow Street.

Step 1: Pick up the 21 Farrow St. – Back Door Key

From the street in Shorefront District – South, enter the apartment building at Number 16, directly opposite Number 14 on Farrow Street. Head upstairs and follow the hallway in the flat marked 1/2 until you reach a dining table. The key sits on top of it.

Go back down the stairs and out to the street, then open your paper map. Find 21 Farrow Street so you know which back garden you are aiming for before you start moving through the fog.

Step 2: Reach the blue door at Jess’s House

Use the alley next to Number 14 to enter the gardens behind the terrace. Move through the connecting alleys, then ascend the exterior stairs to reach the rear entrance of 21 Farrow Street.

A creature patrols this stretch of garden. You can beat it down with a wooden plank, but slipping past it unnoticed costs you nothing and keeps the plank intact.

Go to the blue door on the property’s east side, open the key list, and choose the 21 Farrow St. – Back Door Key. This unlocks the door permanently for your return.

Step through the doorway into the house and check your map once you are inside to orient yourself toward the kitchen.

Step 3: Search the kitchen drawer

Move into the kitchen and search the drawer right next to the stove. The Lock Box Key is inside. Nothing else in the room is required for the box, though the bedroom medical box holds the Broken Stethoscope if you are also working on the scales puzzle in Zoe’s office.

Opening the blue box in Building 16

Leave through the same back door, unlock the wooden gate on your way out of the gardens, and run back across the street to the apartment building you started in.

Stay on the ground floor this time. Enter the flat, go into the first room immediately to the right, and inspect the coffee table, where the blue lock box is waiting.

Interact with the box and use the Lock Box Key. The lid opens and the key is spent.

What is inside, and how to confirm it worked

Open the box and take the Empty IV Bag plus one bottle of IV Fluid. The unlock has registered when both items appear in your inventory and the Lock Box Key is no longer listed.

Neither item is useful by itself. In the inventory, combine the IV Fluid and the Empty IV Bag to make a Filled IV Bag; this is what brings you back after lethal damage. If the combine command is unavailable, one of the two items is missing.

Finding keys for the other blue boxes

Every blue metal box in St. Amelia follows the same rule. One key, one box, no exceptions, so hoarding a single Lock Box Key will not get you through two containers.

When you spot a locked box, sweep the rooms around it before wandering off. The matching key is usually hidden somewhere in the same building, often a drawer or a table in an adjacent room.

Because a key is consumed on use, it is worth clearing a building’s drawers first and opening its box last. That way you are not walking a spare key across Shorefront past patrolling creatures for a container you could have opened on the spot.
