Every aniimo build comes down to the same three choices: the two skills you equip, the held item you attach, and the stats you push through leveling and potentials. Get those aligned with the creature’s role and it performs the way it should, whether that is dealing damage, breaking guard, or keeping the team alive.
Quick answer: Pair each aniimo’s two skills with a held item that matches its job, then set stat priority to suit. Use damage items for carries, Spirited Feather for support and regen units.

Recommended build for every aniimo
The table lists the two equipped skills, the held item, and the stat priority for each aniimo, along with the personality type that suits it. Skills are shown in the order they are slotted, and the personality letters map to the buffs explained further down.

The pattern is easy to read once you spot it. Break-focused units lean on Gargantuan Horn, damage carries take Ferocious Fang, Heartseeker Pendant, or Fission Needles, and healers and regen units run Spirited Feather. Match the held item to the job first, then let skills and stats follow.

Several skills that appear across these builds have fixed costs and power values. Energy cost matters when you plan a rotation, since a cheaper skill fires more often. Most of these run on a one-second cooldown.
| Skill | Element | EP cost | Power |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lightning Blade Storm | 10 | 35 | |
| Resting Whirlwind | 15 | 48 | |
| Guardbreak Slam | 15 | 45 | |
| Guardbreak Smash | 15 | 45 | |
| Gale Guard | 20 | 54 | |
| Bouncy Sling | 20 | 55 |
Gale Guard is the outlier with a 15-second cooldown. It grants 20% damage reduction in its defensive stance, then hands over a shield worth 10% of max HP for 20 seconds when the stance ends. That is why Tubster, its main user, leans into Break and HP.
How to strengthen an aniimo
A build is only as strong as the systems behind it. Five levers raise an aniimo’s real power, and each one uses different materials.
Level up with growth items
Leveling is the fastest route to stronger stats. Feed Growth Buds, Growth Fruits, and Growth Flowers to raise the level, which is also the primary condition for evolution. The catch is that the maximum level cap is set by your title, so raise your character’s level to lift that ceiling.
Raise Resonance Star Rank
After completing Promotion: Dewdrop Crystal’s Resonance, you can access Resonance Star Rank and spend Dewdrop Crystals on it. Each rank boosts stats and enhances Potentials, while some ranks increase the number of Capability Awakenings available to you.

Capability Awakening for potentials
Using Star Dust first and Star Sand afterward grants an aniimo Acquired Potential. This increases the stats gained at every level, including levels it has already reached. The maximum depends on its Resonance Star Rank and level, and its Innate Potential plus Acquired Potential is capped at 20.
Held items and contracts
Held items drop from certain Alpha Aniimo and boost stats when equipped. Every held item has a Core Effect that applies regardless of level or rarity. Higher rarity items add one or two Advanced Effects, which unlock at item level 10 and 15.
Legendary held items can be contracted to a single aniimo once they hit level 15, which improves that aniimo’s core skill and carries over to others of the same species. Contracting costs Marks of the Strong, a very limited resource with no refund, so commit only to strong skills.
Not every aniimo has a buffed skill, so some cannot be contracted at all.

Personality bonuses
An aniimo’s personality letters determine its passive bonuses. Energetic (E) provides ATK +2% and Break +2%; Practical (S) provides DMG +4%. Using a Psyche Fruit randomizes the personality, although certain personalities cannot change. For min-maxing, reroll only as a last resort after you have spare fruits.
Building Fulmintis, from catch to finished unit
Fulmintis is a good end-to-end example because it starts as a wild Wisptis and touches every system above. As a DPS, it wants Attack and Regen, with Break as a strong alternative focus.

You will know the build has come together when the combat power total settles. A fully finished 5-star Fulmintis along this route reached 2,437 CP, with 745 Attack, 339 Regen, and an 11,900 Break value. Hit those numbers and the creature is ready for open-world and endgame content.
