Fisch: How to Find Nate’s Computer PIN

Nate’s computer sits locked behind a four-symbol PIN inside Nate’s Cave, and you can’t advance the investigation until you crack it. The combination isn’t a fixed code you can copy from anyone else. Each save hides its own set of symbols on four numbered clues, so you have to read the clues in your own game and enter them in the order the numbers tell you.

Quick answer: Enter Nate’s Cave on Sunstone Island, inspect the four numbered symbol clues (nightstand, bookshelf, car seat, and desk), then input them on the computer in number order. Your combination is unique to your save.

Where Nate’s computer PIN puzzle is located

Nate’s Cave on Sunstone Island contains the puzzle at GPS (-914.0, 207.4, -1027.8). Sail to the low cliff directly behind the Merlin Witch NPC, climb up to the cave opening, and enter the furnished cave.

Inside, you’ll find Miso, Nate’s cat, near the desk. Interact with Miso to begin the investigation. The cat leads you up to the loft where Nate’s computer sits, showing an “Enter PIN” screen. Everything you need to unlock it is inside the cave, so there’s no reason to search the island outside.

Find the four symbol clues in Nate’s Cave

Four clues are scattered across the cave interior, each showing a symbol paired with a number from 1 to 4. The number on a clue tells you which slot its symbol fills, so you don’t have to find them in any particular order. Work through these four spots and note what each one shows.

Go to the upstairs bedroom and check the small round nightstand beside the bed, to the left of the computer. Inspect the top of it to reveal the first symbol.

Head downstairs to the living area and look at the bookshelf behind the sofa, next to the potted plant. The second symbol sits on the bottom shelf.

Head for the cave entrance, where a black car is parked. The third symbol is on the front seat.

Return upstairs to the computer desk and examine the low shelf on the left side of the table, near the monitors. The fourth symbol is here.

The symbols and their order change between players. The example sequence shown in one playthrough was Star, Pentagon, Diamond, and Heart, but yours may differ. Always read the clues in your own cave rather than copying someone else’s code.

Enter the PIN on Nate’s computer

Once you’ve noted all four symbols and their numbers, go back to the computer showing “Enter PIN” and fill each slot with the matching symbol. Place the symbol marked 1 in the first slot, the symbol marked 2 in the second, and so on through the fourth.

If you’ve found three of the four symbols, you can cycle the remaining icon slot on the terminal until the screen accepts the combination.

How to know the PIN worked

When the combination is correct, the locked screen changes to a “Play Video” prompt. Play the video to trigger a cutscene with Nate and Dr. Delphinus that reveals what happened during Nate’s disappearance. Your quest log then updates to the next objective, “Watch the mysterious video,” confirming the puzzle is solved and the investigation can continue.

Don’t walk away the moment the computer unlocks. The video carries the story clue that points you toward the next stage of Nate’s Quest, so let it play through before you leave the cave.
