Diamond is a Gem resource in Aion 2 that feeds Handicrafting, which is where jewelry, rings and decorations come from. It is thinner on the ground than Ruby or Sapphire and tends to sit in awkward corners, so a planned circuit through the right zone beats wandering. Which zone depends on your faction, and the node counts make the choice obvious.

Quick answer: Diamond is a Novice-grade Gem gathered with Essence Extraction. The densest fields are Altgard (200 nodes) for Asmodians and Verteron (192 nodes) for Elyos.

How Diamond gathering works in Aion 2

Diamond belongs to the Gem category and is pulled with the Essence Extraction gathering skill. Its nodes are smooth and purple with a faint pink tone, which is how you tell them apart from other gem veins at a glance. Each gather returns one material, and the grade you receive varies from common to unique.

A single node can be worked three times before it disappears, and spawns refresh in roughly 35 to 40 seconds. That cadence is what makes a tight loop worthwhile: by the time you clear a short chain of nodes, the first ones are close to coming back.

Here is what a Diamond node can give:

GradeMaterial
CommonDiamond Gemstone
RareFine Diamond Gemstone
EpicPure Diamond Gemstone
UniqueRadiant Diamond Gemstone

Nodes can also drop Poko’s Skin Bundle (Bound) as a bonus material on top of the gemstone.

Where Diamond nodes are across all four regions

There are 579 Diamond nodes spread across four regions, but only two of them matter for the global version of the game. Eltnen and Morheim arrived with the Chapter 1 update (levels 45 to 50) and are live in Korea and Taiwan, not on the global client as of October 2026.

Altgard sits in Asmodian territory and Verteron in Elyos territory, so your faction decides your home field. The node totals are close, and both regions carry enough Diamond to sustain a repeatable route.

Verteron Diamond route (Elyos)

Three areas in Verteron hold the bulk of the region’s Diamond: Eliun River Marsh, Drana Plantation and Forest of Exiles. Of those, Eliun River Marsh has the tightest cluster.

The Diamond veins concentrate on the northern shore of the marsh, around the Marsh Legion Camp and the Collapsed Verteron Barrier Kibelisk. Nodes are scattered throughout, but the cleanest loop is just past the Marsh Legion Camp, heading further north, where five to seven nodes tend to sit together.

A decent pair of wings helps here. Several Diamond nodes sit in spots that are faster to reach by air than on foot, which cuts the walking time between gathers.

Altgard Diamond route (Asmodian)

On the Asmodian side, Diamond concentrates around Fafnite Deposit, Uruthumheim and Nameless Cemetery. The Nameless Cemetery is the best of the three and the densest Diamond field in Altgard.

The nodes there sit away from aggressive enemy packs, so you can run the loop without constantly stopping to fight. They are also easy to reach even without high-tier wings, which makes the cemetery the simplest Diamond circuit to set up on either faction.

Essence Extraction setup for faster Diamond runs

Diamond requires only Novice gathering grade, so the gem is accessible early. A few Essence Extraction choices change how much you walk away with per circuit.

  • Gem Seeker places gem nodes directly on your minimap, which removes most of the hunting.
  • Delicate Touch lowers your failure rate on each extraction attempt.
  • Plentiful Harvest grants extra yield from nodes.
  • Gem Appraiser raises the chance of higher-grade gemstones.

Each node has three health segments, one per gather. Taking a hit from an enemy or getting interrupted mid-extraction costs you a segment, so clear any mob with a red triangle over its nameplate before you start working a node. That one habit protects your full three-pull yield.

You know a gather succeeded when the Diamond gemstone lands in your inventory and the node’s bars drain. Once all three segments are spent the vein vanishes and resets on its spawn timer, which is your cue to move to the next node in the loop and circle back. Run either the Eliun River Marsh chain or the Nameless Cemetery chain on repeat, and the stacks of Diamond Gemstone build quickly enough to keep Handicrafting fed.
