The Rabbitfish is a Legendary ocean catch in Fisch that lives in one place only: the water beneath The Arch, a rock formation northeast of Moosewood. It bites on Seaweed, moves erratically in the reeling bar, and applies a progress penalty while you fight it, so knowing exactly where to fish and what to equip saves a lot of wasted casts.

Quick answer: Travel to The Arch (around 1060, 135, -1150), turn on the Fish Radar to reveal the striped Rabbitfish zone, equip Seaweed bait, and cast into the marked water.

Rabbitfish stats and where it spawns

The Rabbitfish is a saltwater fish tied to a single spot under The Arch. It carries a resilience of 35 and a -20% progress speed penalty during the reel, which is the main reason it feels harder than its weight suggests.

The Arch sits northeast of Moosewood, out in the open Ocean. The abundance zone, revealed only with the Fish Radar, stretches across much of the arch and sits mainly along its southern side.

How to reach The Arch and catch the Rabbitfish

Start at Moosewood and head to the wooden dock. Talk to the Shipwright to spawn a boat or Jetski from the vessel menu.
Drive out into the open Ocean and steer northeast toward the large rock arch. Keep the throttle up, since the trip across the water takes a short while.

When you reach the arch, pull up onto the flat stone ledge or park your boat beside it. This is the only natural location where the Rabbitfish appears.

Open your backpack and toggle on the Fish Radar. The Rabbitfish abundance shows up as a yellow-and-black diagonal striped patch over the water, labeled [Rabbitfish].
Equip Seaweed as your bait from the baits menu. Cast your line directly into the striped zone, right beneath the arc where the fish concentrate.
Work the shake prompts, then hold the reeling bar steady. Because of the -20% progress penalty, the Rabbitfish darts around the bar, so focus on keeping the marker centered rather than rushing it.

An Aurora Totem used at the spot speeds up repeat catches, which helps if you are chasing a higher weight or a mutation.

Best bait, conditions, and catch odds

Seaweed is the preferred bait and the simplest reliable choice. The natural abundance under The Arch adds only a 1% chance on top of the base rate, so luck-boosting gear matters. A Flimsy Rod paired with Weird Algae, on windy autumn nights, pushes the odds up by roughly 2.3%, and the Breezed enchant adds about another 0.35%.

  • Preferred season: Autumn
  • Favoring: its chance rises with higher luck

Weight, value, and size brackets

The Rabbitfish sells for about 303.83 C$ per kilogram and grants 1,460 XP. Natural weights and their sell values break down as follows.

Weight tierKgSell value
Minimum2.5kg759.6 C$
Average4.25kg1,291.3 C$
Base6kg1,823 C$
Maximum (natural)12.6kg3,829 C$

Size labels follow the weight: Tiny under 1.25kg, Small under 2.48kg, Big above 6kg, and Giant above 11.9kg. A range of mutations can also appear, including Shiny, Albino, Frozen, Electric, Aurora, and others.

Catching it during Classic Commotion

If you would rather not travel to The Arch, the Rabbitfish can also be hooked in any body of water during the Classic Commotion admin event, where it carries a fixed 15% chance. Outside that event, The Arch remains the only place it appears.

How to confirm the catch

When a Rabbitfish hooks, a Legendary exclamation point pops above your character and a bell sound plays, which is shared by every Legendary fish. Landing it shows a prompt such as “You just caught a Rabbitfish!” along with the weight and the Bestiary update, and your character calls out one of its quips: “Woah!! A Rabbitfish!”, “A Rabbitfish!!”, or “I caught a Rabbitfish!” A first-time catch adds it to your Bestiary.
