Closer Than Family is a short Wandering Tale in the Qingzhou region of Where Winds Meet, filed under Mount Tai Part 5. It runs entirely inside Cloudside Village and asks you to carry a plate of dumplings a few steps from the shop kitchen back to an old man waiting outside. The whole tale takes a couple of minutes once you reach the village.
Quick answer: Fast travel to the Cloudside Village landmark, talk to Old Man Liu to start the tale, collect the Plate of Dumplings from Zhang Quan inside the shop, then deliver it back to Old Man Liu outside.
Where to start Closer Than Family in Qingzhou
The tale sits in Cloudside Village, a secluded settlement on Qingzhou Eastern Peak, described in-game as a place that rests alone beyond the storm clouds veiling Mount Tai. Open the Exploration menu, switch to the map, and teleport to the Cloudside Village landmark on the western coast of the Eastern Peak. From the teleport stone, everything you need is a short run uphill.
Start at the Cloudside Village teleport stone and follow the stone stairs uphill. The open-air food stalls, where villagers gather, are ahead; the dumpling shop sits at the top of the path.
Speak with Old Man Liu, who stands outside the dumpling stall next to Li Zongyao. His dialogue about old legends and the shop owner’s household triggers the Wandering Tale, and Closer Than Family appears in your Wandering Tales details.
Walk into the dumpling shop building beside the stall and find the cook, Zhang Quan, working at the counter. Speak with him to pick up the quest item, the Plate of Dumplings, which he prepares as a gift for Old Man Liu.
Return outdoors. Old Man Liu is seated at the wooden dining tables beneath the curved tree branch. Interact with him, bring up the submit menu, and give him the Plate of Dumplings. Continue through the rest of the dialogue to finish the tale.
Submitting the dumplings and clearing the final lines of dialogue grants the full reward set at once.

How to confirm the tale is complete
After the delivery scene fades, an on-screen notice reads “Wandering Tales Closer Than Family Ending Unlocked,” and the reward screen lists the Echo Jade, Qingzhou Exploration points, coins, and Stored EXP. To double-check, reopen the Exploration menu, go to Wandering Tales, and confirm Closer Than Family under Mount Tai Part 5 is marked as Completed. Once it shows as done, you can move on to the next tale in the chain, A Heart’s Desire.
