AION 2: How to Get the Zircon Hammer and What It Crafts

In AION 2, the Common-tier Zircon Hammer lets you carve Balaur Horns at the forge. It grants no combat stats or active effect; its only use is in a Blacksmithing recipe that turns raw horn into refined material.

Quick answer: Buy the Zircon Hammer from a Blacksmith Merchant in Verteron or Altgard (or the in-game Shop) for 4,650 Kina each. You must be level 40 to use it.

Where to buy the Zircon Hammer

The hammer is a vendor item, not a drop. Any Blacksmith Merchant that stocks it sells it for the same price, and you can also pull it from the Shop menu under the All tab. Spend bound Kina first if you have it, since the game draws from that pool before touching your unbound Kina.

The hammer stacks up to 10,000, so there is no reason to make repeat trips. Buy enough for every horn you plan to carve in one visit.

Because the hammer is bound, you cannot sell it on the Market or hand it to another player through a trade. It can still move between your own characters and your Legion through storage, which makes it easy to pool materials for crafting.

What the Zircon Hammer is used for

The hammer feeds a single Blacksmithing recipe: Fine Thick Balaur Horn. That recipe turns a Thick Balaur Horn into a refined Epic-grade material, which in turn goes into Draconic gear.

  • Requires Blacksmithing mastery level 51.
  • Consumes Balaur’s Essence x2 and Zircon Hammer (Bound) x1 per craft.
  • Base success rate of 95.2%.
  • Produces Fine Thick Balaur Horn, an Epic T1 material for Draconic gear.

You confirm the hammer worked when the craft completes and a Fine Thick Balaur Horn lands in your inventory, with the hammer and essence deducted. Since the recipe sits behind mastery level 51, keep leveling Blacksmithing before stocking up on hammers you cannot yet use.
