Mine the pink masses inside the Shroud, then combine the slime at the Alchemist to make sludge.

Shroud Slime is a Common crafting material you mine from large pink slime masses deep inside the Shroud. It feeds a chain of recipes at the Alchemist, including Shroud Sludge, which in turn opens up potions, spells, boots, dyes, and a Flame Altar upgrade. Both items stack to 250.

Quick answer: Hit the pink slime masses in the Shroud at the Veilwater Basin with your pickaxe to collect Shroud Slime. Then combine 5 Shroud Slime, 5 Shroud Gelatin, and 5 Pink Mushroom Meat at the Alchemist to make Shroud Sludge.

Mine Shroud Slime inside the Shroud

Shroud Slime is not an enemy drop.

Enter the Shroud at Veilwater Basin and watch your Shroud timer. Your time there is limited, so you’ll need to retreat before the window closes.
Find the big pink slime masses and harvest them. Collecting Shroud Slime for the first time makes the Shroud Sludge recipe available at the Alchemist.

Equip your pickaxe and mine the mass. Each strike adds Shroud Slime to your pickup list.

Keep mining until the mass is gone. The Shroud Slime count climbs as you clear it out, so work through the whole thing before you leave.

Shroud Slime carries the item text: “Vibrant and deeply disturbing if you allow it to invade your mind.”

Craft Shroud Sludge at the Alchemist

Once the recipe is unlocked, Shroud Sludge is made at the Alchemist from three materials. For each Shroud Sludge you need 5 Shroud Slime, 5 Shroud Gelatin, and 5 Pink Mushroom Meat. Shroud Gelatin drops from Shroud Depthdwellers.

For this recipe, the Alchemist must have a Mortar and be positioned beneath a roof. Once both requirements are satisfied and you have the ingredients, select Shroud Sludge in the Alchemist’s menu to craft it.

Shroud Sludge carries the item text: “Excessive experimentation proved that mixing slime and jelly creates sludge. All of these substances are entirely different and deserving of their own characterization due to their varied viscosity.”

What Shroud Slime is used for
