Daevanion Crystal: Ariel is the item that feeds the Ariel Daevanion board in AION 2. The Ariel board opens at character level 45 and runs on its own points. Your regular Daevanion pool from leveling won’t move it forward. Every Ariel node you unlock is paid for with Ariel Daevanion Points, and this crystal is the most direct way to collect them.

Quick answer: Clear Chamber of the Dead for Fragment: Ariel’s Trace, then Substance Morph 100 fragments and 50 Odyle (bound) into one crystal. You can also buy one for 800 Phantasmal Fragment.

Daevanion Crystal: Ariel effect and item stats

Using one crystal adds exactly 1 Ariel Daevanion Point to your character. That point can only go into the Ariel board. It has no duration and no ongoing buff. The item’s whole job is to be converted into a board point.

Both versions of the crystal are bound to the character who owns them. You can’t sell them to other players or move them between characters through storage. Plan on earning crystals on the same character that will spend them. Vendors pay 1,000 Kina for the standard version. Selling one is rarely worth it, because a crystal you sell is a board point you lose.

How to get Daevanion Crystal: Ariel

The crystal comes from three places. One is a crafting route you can repeat. The other two are a shop purchase and a pass reward.

Farm Fragment: Ariel’s Trace in Chamber of the Dead

Fragment: Ariel’s Trace (Bound) is a Common crafting material. Its only purpose is to be morphed into Daevanion Crystal: Ariel. You earn it as a clear reward from Chamber of the Dead, which is listed under the Ascension Trial dungeon category.

  • Difficulty: Normal
  • Entry requirements: level 45 and 1,500 gear score
  • Death limit: 3
  • Time limit: 16 minutes

Turn fragments into crystals with Substance Morph

Open your inventory and select Fragment: Ariel’s Trace (Bound). Choose Substance Morph to see the recipes that produce Daevanion Crystal: Ariel.
Pick a recipe. The 100% recipe uses 100 fragments and 50 Odyle (bound) and always gives one crystal. The 10% recipe uses 10 fragments and 5 Odyle (bound) per attempt.
Set how many attempts to run and confirm. The 10% recipe lets you queue several tries at once. Each try rolls on its own, so you’ll see a mix of successes and failures.

Ten tries on the 10% recipe cost the same as one guaranteed morph and give one crystal on average. Some batches will come out ahead and some behind. In one six-try batch, for example, two tries succeeded and four failed. The guaranteed recipe removes that swing, but it needs 100 fragments before you can use it at all.

Buy it with Phantasmal Fragment

The bound version of the crystal is sold for 800 Phantasmal Fragment each. Phantasmal Fragment is the currency you earn by completing Nightmare challenges. Generic Daevanion Crystals are also sold for Phantasmal Fragment, but those add regular Daevanion Points, not Ariel points. Check the item name before you buy.

Collect it from the Daeva Pass

Daevanion Crystal: Ariel (Bound) is also a Daeva Pass reward. Crystals from the pass work exactly like crafted or purchased ones. Each one gives one Ariel point.

Use Daevanion Crystal: Ariel on the Ariel board

The Ariel board’s core nodes are PvE Damage Boost and PvE Damage Tolerance. Its smaller nodes give PvE-focused stats. Examples include PvE Attack +5, HP +100, PvE Evasion +10, a PvE Attack +5 / PvE Defense +10 combination, and Boss Damage Boost +1%. The early nodes near the start each cost one Ariel point.

Select your Daevanion Crystal: Ariel stack in the inventory. Use Bulk Use to consume several at once, and enter the number you want to spend.
Open Daevanion from the main menu. Select the Ariel tab in the board row, which also lists Nezekan, Zikel, Vaizel, Triniel, Azphel, Marchutan, Yustiel, Kaisinel, and Lumiel.
Start from the central Ariel – Start node and pick a connected node. Each node’s tooltip lists its cost as “Required Daevanion Point: Ariel.” Unlock it to spend the point.

You’ll know the crystals worked when the consumed items leave your inventory, and the Ariel board lets you unlock nodes for that many points. Each unlocked node lights up and adds its stat to your character.

Refunding a node returns its point but costs 500 Kina per node. Map out your path before you spend crystals you had to farm.

Ariel growth voucher and the 200-point mark

The Daevanion Special Growth Voucher: Ariel (Bound) uses the same point pool but affects it differently: instead of granting one point, it sets your total Ariel Daevanion Points to 200. If you have already earned more than 200 Ariel points, using the voucher has no effect. It is a level 45 Special item that cannot be traded, and Substance Morph can turn it into a different item.

Since the voucher only brings your total up to 200, crystals you use before redeeming it just shrink the gap it fills. If you hold a voucher and are still below 200 Ariel points, use the voucher first. Crystals you use after that still add one point each, so none are wasted.
