Stand Out is a Roblox game in the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure mold, built around the Part 9 JoJoLands setting and currently running as an alpha test (the build is labeled “ALPHA TEST #4”). New players wash up on the shore of O’ahu with no Stand and no stats. The first hour follows a fixed order: a short tutorial, a Stand from a Mysterious Arrow, a few levels of story, and then bounties and the Hamon questline. Once you know which key does what and which quest unlocks which system, that order is easy to follow.
Quick answer: Finish Hey Ya’s tutorial for a Mysterious Arrow, use it from your inventory with N, summon with E, spend stat points under M, then follow the story to the hospital to unlock bounties and Hamon.
Hey Ya tutorial: How to get your first Stand
The tutorial questline starts as soon as you spawn. It teaches movement and basic combat, and it is the only way to get your first Stand without luck. You can launch the game from its Roblox page.

Your Stand is random. Common early pulls include The Grateful Dead and Beyond the Sea. More Mysterious Arrows come from the storyline, and using another one rolls a different Stand.

The tutorial only covers a few of these keys. The rest unlock as you reach the systems that use them.
| Key | Action |
|---|---|
| L-Shift | Sprint |
| Q | Dash |
| M1 | Attack |
| F | Block |
| E | Summon or dismiss Stand |
| 1, 2, 3, 4 | Stand moves |
| T | Toggle EX moveset |
| P | Pose (charges EX) |
| N | Inventory |
| M | Menu (Stats) |
| H | Pick up throwable object |
Moves also behave differently depending on whether your Stand is out. Keeping the Stand summoned opens up unique combos that are not available without it.
Stand skills, EX moves and the EX meter
Hover your mouse over any skill slot on the HUD to see its tooltip. Tooltips list damage, cooldown and what the move does. Withering Mist on The Grateful Dead, for example, is a toggle that ages and damages everyone near your Stand for 1–4 damage on a 1.5-second cooldown. Senior Citizen, its fourth move, is also a toggle. It ages your own character, which slows some of your actions but helps build EX.
| Slot | The Grateful Dead | Beyond the Sea |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Withering Mist (toggle) | Sunfish Slap |
| 2 | Rotten Grasp | Jellyfish Summon |
| 3 | One-Armed Barrage | Maelstrom |
| 4 | Senior Citizen (toggle) | Riptide |
Pressing T swaps the HUD to your EX moveset. These are stronger versions of the same slots. EX Withering Mist spreads the mist much farther for 25 seconds. EX Tsunami on Beyond the Sea raises a wave that carries enemies forward. You can hover EX slots for tooltips the same way as regular moves.
EX moves need charge from the EX bar, which sits directly above your health bar. It fills during combat. Outside of a fight you can hold a pose with P to fill it at 1% per second. That is slow, but it lets you start a hard fight with EX ready.

Leveling up and spending stat points
You earn EXP from story quests, side quests and bounties. Each level gives 3 stat points. Points do nothing until you spend them, and the game reminds you with a message such as “You have 18 unspent stat points! Spend them in the Stats menu.”
Press M and open STATS. Click a category to add points to it, and watch the AVAILABLE POINTS counter go down to confirm each point was spent.

- Ability powers your Stand moves.
- Health raises how much damage you can take.
- Damage raises your direct attack damage.
- RESET STATS lets you take points back if a build is not working.
Most early fights reward damage, so many players put most points into Ability or Damage. Save some for Health before the first tougher story enemies, because a pure damage build can fall to a single combo.
Storyline quests: Usagi, the hospital and Diamatch
The active quest shows on the left side of the screen. A yellow winged arrow in the world points to the next objective, with a distance in studs. Glowing yellow circles mark objects you can interact with.
The early story sends you to Jodio’s Corner to pick up Usagi. You carry him to the hospital entrance and run an MRI scan with Meryl Mei Qi. Finishing this chain grants a second Mysterious Arrow as a storyline reward, plus EXP. It also counts as the story progress Billy checks for Hamon. Later steps take you into Diamatch, a watch shop, where you ask to see the luxury watches and sit for a private showing in the back room.
If an objective says to use an item and nothing happens, open your inventory with N. Some quest items must be used manually before the next objective appears.
Bounties: How the phone missions work
Open your in-game phone and tap the red “b.” BOUNTIES app. Bounties are sorted into tiers by level. Pick a tier, choose a contract such as “Trust Me on This One” or “Disposes of the Vampires,” and press Begin. The mission then shows up in your quest tracker.

| Bounty tier | Level range |
|---|---|
| Tier 1 | Lv 10–20 |
| Tier 2 | Lv 20–30 |
| Tier 3 | Lv 30–40 |
| Tier 4 | Around Lv 50 |
Higher tiers pay more but hit much harder. Stay in the tier that matches your level until your stats catch up. Bounties also count toward Hamon, so it helps to start them early.
How to unlock Hamon from Billy
Hamon is a fighting style you use alongside your Stand. It comes from Billy, an NPC lying in a bed in room E/F of the hospital, to the left after you walk in.
Billy will not start the questline until your story is far enough along. If you talk to him too early, he says you still have unfinished business with Meryl and the crew. The only reply is “I’ll come back later.” Once your story is past Meryl Mei Qi and the MRI scan, he assigns these tasks as trackable quests:
- Kill 5 Vampires
- Complete 3 Bounties
- Defeat 5 Hubers
The quest tracker records your progress on every task. Once you have finished all three, head back to Billy and resume the Hamon questline.
Fast travel with Huber, resets and throwables
O’ahu is large, and walking between quest givers takes a while. Open the phone’s Huber app and pick “Call Hubert” to have the taxi driver meet you at the nearest clear street. Each ride costs 50 coins, and you need to finish any active activity before you can call him.
Resetting your character is a free alternative. You respawn outside the hospital, which is handy because the hospital hosts both the MRI story step and Billy.
Along the roads you will see objects with a glow under them, such as picnic tables and benches. Hold H to pick one up, then throw it at an enemy for extra damage between Stand cooldowns.
Stuck quest in Stand Out: Switch servers
The map is destructible, and that can break quests. Smashed furniture or a damaged quest room can stop a trigger from firing or leave an NPC stuck. Other players working on the same objective can also leave an NPC or enemy in the wrong state. Waiting rarely fixes it.
Leave and join a different server. The new server loads a clean map, and your quest step can be done again from there. You will know the fix worked when the waypoint arrow points somewhere you can reach again and the tracker count starts going up. Check that you have not missed an objective before you hop, since an incomplete step looks the same as a broken one at first glance.
