In Grow a Plant, how fast your money grows depends on three things: how many plants fit on your base, how quickly you can push them to full growth, and how much each harvest pays. The upgrades that control those three, plus a few good seed pack buys, matter far more than anything else you spend cash on.

Quick answer: Upgrade Base Size first, then Watering Can, then Money Multiplier. Claim the 3 free Mystery Seed Packs, then save for Legendary packs like the $2M Dragon Seed Pack instead of cheap Common packs.

Best upgrade order in Grow a Plant

The Upgrades menu has three tracks. Base Size and Watering Can each go up to 13 levels. Money Multiplier goes up to 15. Every level can be bought with in-game cash. Most levels can also be bought for R$99.

The Upgrades menu holds all three income tracks. Base Size should get your money first. Shown at 00:36 in CHALLS’s video.
UpgradeLevelChangeCash cost
Base Size2/136 → 8 plants$100K
Base Size3/138 → 10 plants$2.5M
Watering Can3/13x3 → x3.5 speed$100K
Watering Can4/13x3.5 → x5 speed$400K
Watering Can5/13x5 speed → x5 speed + Drone$10M
Money Multiplier3/15x1.6 → x1.8 money$50K
Money Multiplier4/15x1.8 → x2 money$1M
Money Multiplier5/15x2 → x2.2 money$4M

Base Size comes first because each extra slot is one more plant earning money, including while you’re offline. Watering Can comes next because it cuts down the time between planting and earning. Money Multiplier is the cheapest track early on, at $50K for the step to x1.8. Put spare cash into it whenever you can’t yet afford the next Base Size level. The Watering Can step that adds a Drone costs R$699 instead of the usual R$99.

You can confirm a purchase in the menu itself. The level counter goes up by one, and the row moves on to the next upgrade, for example from “x3.5 Speed -> x5 Speed” to “x5 Speed -> x5 Speed + Drone”.

How harvesting and the watering can speed up income

A fully grown plant on your plot shows a Take prompt. Use it to collect the plant, then move on to the next one.

Growing plants have a countdown timer. Equip the watering can and hold it on a plant to run that timer faster, multiplied by the can’s speed. At x5, the timer drops five times as fast for as long as you keep watering. A dashed circle marks the spot you’re watering. This matters most for high-rarity seeds. A Legendary Saguaro, for example, starts on a 28-minute timer.

Claim 3 free Mystery Seed Packs

The Free Gifts chest sits next to the shops and gives +3 Mystery Seed Pack once you complete three tasks:

  • LIKE THE GAME! (like Grow a Plant on Roblox)

  • JOIN THE COMMUNITY! (join the game’s Roblox group)

When all three are done, press CLAIM in the Free Gifts window. The packs then go into your inventory, ready to open like any other seed pack.

Best seed packs to buy: Prices and rarities

The Seed Shop runs from Basic up to Vortex. Stock is limited, and many packs show SOLD OUT until the next restock. Higher-tier packs give higher-rarity seeds, and higher-rarity plants earn more per second.

Once you have a few million in the bank, the Common and Uncommon packs stop being worth the plot space they take. The Dragon Seed Pack is a good target in that range. At $2M, it can drop a Legendary Saguaro Seed, which starts at $592/s and climbs to $720/s as it grows. Vortex can only be bought with cash, and at $700B it’s an endgame purchase.

Seed Shop restock timer

The Seed Shop and Egg Shop each show a countdown and restock roughly every 4 to 5 minutes. A pack that says NO STOCK can show a stock count and a BUY button on the next refresh. If you’re saving for a specific pack, stay near the shop when the timer is about to hit zero.

Planting a new seed on a full base

When every slot on your base is taken, you can’t plant a new seed until you remove an existing plant. Removed plants go back to your inventory. The usual move is to remove your weakest plant, such as an Iris, plant the higher-rarity seed in its place, and water it right away to cut down its timer.

Egg Shop prices and pet bonuses

Eggs are bought with cash and hatch into pets. Pets follow you around and give a passive bonus. The Egg Shop works on the same restock timer as the Seed Shop.

EggRarityCash price
Sprout EggCommon$100K
Stone EggCommon$150K
Daisy EggUncommon$1.5M
Bud EggUncommon$2.2M
Tide EggRare$20M

A Rare Frost Egg is listed after the Tide Egg. Hatches aren’t guaranteed to be good. A $2.2M Bud Egg can come out as an Uncommon baby Squirrel with only a 1% Chance +1 Seed Stock. For the same money, the Dragon Seed Pack adds direct income. A Rare Turtle at the Young stage is more useful, giving a 25% Chance +1 Egg Stock that went up to 26% over time. That suggests pet bonuses improve as the pet ages.

Courier trade offers: When to decline

A Courier NPC will sometimes walk up with an OFFER! window asking to swap one of your plants for a seed, for example “Your Aloe Vera for a Tomato seed?” The window shows what you give up, including its multiplier (here, Aloe Vera at +1.0X), and what you get (an Uncommon Tomato Seed). You can ACCEPT or DECLINE.

Many of these offers trade a grown, earning plant for a low-rarity seed you would still need to grow from scratch. Compare the rarity on both sides before you press ACCEPT.

Checking offline earnings and leaderboard income

The banner at the top of the screen shows how much your base earns while you’re away, in the format “You earn $29.5M/d while OFFLINE”. This is the easiest way to see whether an upgrade or a new plant paid off. Planting a Legendary Saguaro and buying a few upgrades took that figure from $29.5M/d to about $76.6M/d in one session.

For an idea of where the top end sits, the Top Money leaderboard is led by players earning between $864M/s and $960M/s. Top Time Played and Top Deals leaderboards are on display too. Redeemable codes go into the CODES! screen in the Shop. Type a code into the “Code here” field and press REDEEM.
