The Doomsekkar Rod is a FischFright 3 quest reward that can’t be bought. It has infinite max weight, 275% Luck, and a reel minigame built around exploding pumpkins. The quest is not complicated, but it is long. Most of the time goes into one unforgiving streak of 50 perfect catches in a row. FischFright 3 arrived with Version 2.06 on October 17th, 2026, at 4PM UTC, and has no announced end date. The rod’s description reads “Only obtainable during FischFright 3,” so it is worth finishing while the event is live.
Quick answer: Find Doomsekkar beside the Caustic Hallow graveyard and accept his quest. Catch 100 fish from Frightful Pools, get 50 Perfect Catches consecutively there, and defeat a ghost in one haunted house. Return to hand in the quest.
Doomsekkar quest location and objectives
Doomsekkar is a horned figure wreathed in glowing green flames. Find him by the graveyard in Caustic Hallow, the FischFright 3 event area, at roughly GPS -14988, 146, -9663. Take his quest before fishing in any event pools, since both fishing goals only register catches made after acceptance.

| Objective (as shown in tracker) | Target |
|---|---|
| Catch 100 fish from Frightful Pools | 0/100 |
| Perfect Catch 50 fish in a row from Frightful Pools | 0/50 |
| Fight the spirits of a Haunted House | 0/1 |
Turning in the finished quest pays out the following:
- Doomsekkar Rod
- 3,000 Treats
- 20,000 quest XP
- 5,000 XP in the Rod Journal
The Doomsekkar Rod is a different item from FischFright 2’s Dusekkar Rod. Instructions that send you to another NPC, or that never mention the 100 Frightful Pool fish and the 50-catch streak, describe the older rod.

Add to Google Preferences →Frightful Pools: 100 catches and the 50 Perfect Catch streak
Frightful Pools appear as short-lived patches of water with a green glow. They can show up around the regular Fisch map about every 20 minutes to an hour. A server announcement signals a spawn, while global chat is often the quickest source for its location. The four varieties are Grim, Vile, Doomed, and Eldritch, and catches from any of them count. Keep your boat ready to launch when a pool appears.

Both fishing objectives run at the same time and follow these rules:
- One Perfect Catch in a pool counts toward both the 100 and the 50.
- Fish caught outside Frightful Pools do not count.
- Progress carries over when a pool despawns and you move to the next one.
- A single missed Perfect Catch resets the streak to zero.
- Reeling in these pools comes with a control penalty, leaving the bar slow to respond.
The 100 catches come naturally. The streak takes the time. Use a rod you already control well. Blade of Glorp, Seraphic, and Elemental all make Perfect Catches easier. Read the live counter in your tracker instead of keeping count in your head, and try to finish a streak that is close to 50 in the same session rather than switching servers.
The Frightful Pool Totem summons a pool on demand, so you don’t have to wait for a natural spawn. The Dutchman Merchant sells it for 1,500 Treats.
Haunted House objective: Catch the ghost
The third line is cleared by beating a ghost at a haunted trick-or-treat house. It has nothing to do with the pools, so you can do it any time the quest is active.

Entering the encounter isn’t enough. The ghost has to be caught before the objective changes to 1/1.
Turning in the quest and confirming the Doomsekkar Rod unlock
When the tracker shows 100/100 fish, 50/50 perfect catches, and 1/1 ghost, return to Doomsekkar and speak with him to complete the quest. On a successful hand-in, he says the trials are finished, and three confirmations appear:
- A “You have unlocked [Doomsekkar Rod]” alert
- A “+3000 Treats” message
- The quest disappears from your tracker
Afterward, find the rod in your inventory’s Fishing Rods section and equip it. If Doomsekkar does not award it, verify each objective separately before repeating any part. The consecutive-catch requirement is the one most often misunderstood, and the ghost only registers once a catch is completed.
Doomsekkar Rod stats and pumpkin bomb ability
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Lure Speed | 100% |
| Luck | 275% |
| Control | 0.1 (40% bar width) |
| Resilience | -666% |
| Max KG | infkg |
| Line distance | 100m |
Infinite weight means the rod can land any fish, and its Luck ranks near the top of the event’s rods. The -666% Resilience is intentional. It makes fish thrash across the bar and into the rod’s bombs, so the drawback feeds the passive. Some inventories show Control as -0.1, and early footage showed completely different numbers, so treat your own Fishing Rods screen as the final word.
How the pumpkin bombs work
Instead of a conventional reel, this rod sends pumpkin bombs falling onto the reel bar. When one explodes, it adds a fixed amount of catch progress rather than making progress build faster. The effect currently works as follows:
- A bomb is planted every 0.8 seconds away from the fish, with up to 6 live at once.
- The fish triggers a bomb by moving into it; any bomb left alone disappears after 45 seconds.
- Each detonation adds +8% progress, or +2.8% against Progress Locked fish.
- After 6 detonations, the rod slashes for +50% progress (+17.5% against Progress Locked fish) and grants 50 seconds of the Doomsekkar status effect.
- Each detonation after the sixth grants 10 seconds of the effect to you and every player within 50 studs.
Earlier estimates assign each bomb roughly 5% progress, while a “shriek” has a 10% chance to award 50%. Those values may change if the rod is adjusted during the event.
Doomsekkar status effect and mutation
The Doomsekkar status effect grants the following bonuses:
- +1.15x Slash strength
- +1.2x Lure Speed
- +1.1x Movement speed
- +10% Doomsekkar Mutation Chance
Each detonation adds time to the effect, and nearby Doomsekkar users keep the buff running for the entire group while fishing side by side. The Doomsekkar mutation boosts a fish’s value by 8x. It starts with a 10% chance, increased by 8% for every bomb detonated during a catch, accounting for player reports of rates close to half. A Jagged Bone with this mutation also qualifies as a Skeletal Hand item for the Omniscient Ritual.
The rod supports FischFright’s new enchantments. Vile gives a 10% chance of applying the Vile mutation, adds 10% Forced Progress Speed, and cuts fish size by 10%. With Piercing, the rod can stab fish as you reel them in, while also granting 15% Progress Speed.
The description reads “Haunted by the baneless spirit of Matt Dusek,” which marks the rod as a haunted successor to the Dusekkar Rod. Its slash even reuses the Dusekkar slash sound.
How to get the Boglin Branch from the Youngster Goblin
FischFright 3’s second quest-exclusive rod is the Boglin Branch. It requires less effort than the Doomsekkar Rod, though you’ll travel more. The Youngster Goblin offers “FischFright 2026: Youngster Goblin.” Find him in a side alley branching off Caustic Hallow’s main path, beside a small wooden house next to a glowing green pool. Progress counts for all five objectives simultaneously.
| Objective | Target | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Goblin quests, Normal or harder | 3 | Goblins on islands |
| Any Witch’s Ingredients | 10 | Goblin quest rewards |
| Boglin Skull | 1 | Goblin quest rewards |
| Boglin Twig | 1 | Goblin quest rewards |
| Boglin Wraps | 1 | Goblin quest rewards |
Quest difficulty decides what counts. Goblins with a green outline only offer Easy quests, which don’t count toward the 3/3. Goblins with any other outline color can offer Normal, Hard, or Extreme quests, and harder quests pay out more Witch’s Ingredients. Up to three goblins spawn on an island every five minutes.
Witch’s Ingredients also go into Beatrix’s cauldron in Caustic Hallow, where they build Hex Energy toward event rewards. Keep 10 aside for the Youngster Goblin before you offer the rest.

Your rewards are the Boglin Branch, 800 Treats, and 5,000 XP. Look for the confirmation “You have unlocked [Boglin Branch]!” The quest then disappears from the tracker, and an Equip button for the rod appears in the Fishing Rods section.
Boglin Branch vs. Doomsekkar Rod
| Stat or reward | Doomsekkar Rod | Boglin Branch |
|---|---|---|
| Lure Speed | 100% | 80% |
| Luck | 275% | 180% |
| Control | 0.1 | 0.05 |
| Resilience | -666% | 20% |
| Max KG | infkg | 550,000kg |
| Treats on turn-in | 3,000 | 800 |
| XP on turn-in | 20,000 | 5,000 |
The Boglin Branch is a starter-tier event rod. It’s a real upgrade for newer players, but it won’t replace an endgame setup. It has its own bobber and minigame bar. It fishes normally in Caustic Hallow’s green pools, Webridden Cavern, and Vile Frightful Pools, and it takes regular enchantments such as Mystical. It can also roll the Boglin mutation, which seems to help catch progress, though its exact effect is still unclear. At least one inventory has shown -30% Lure Speed, so check your own Fishing Rods screen.
Treats for the Frightful Pool Totem: Scarecrow’s Maze and Dutchman Merchant
Neither rod costs Treats, but the Frightful Pool Totem and the relics used for enchanting do. Scarecrow’s Maze is a good early source. Its quest, “FischFright 2026: Scarecrows,” asks you to appease all 6 scarecrows and pays 1,000 Treats and 5,000 XP. Their requests vary. Some want Treats, some want specific fish, and one wants you to dance for 15 seconds. Another has lost its straw arm, and finding it on the maze floor is a side quest worth 100 Treats and 1,000 XP. Once all six are happy, the Gatekeeper Scarecrow opens a vault holding a Vile Relic, 15 Frightful Caskets, a Doomed Skull, and 1,000 Treats.
The Dutchman Merchant sits near the tops of the spectral ghost ship’s masts and only takes Treats.
| Item | Price (Treats) |
|---|---|
| Dutchman’s Grasp | 25,000 |
| Davy’s Rose | 7,000 |
| Leviathan Mask | 4,500 |
| Jack-o-Moon Totem | 3,500 |
| Eldritch Relic | 3,000 |
| Omniscient Souls | 3,000 |
| Doomsekkar | 1,500 |
| Frightful Pool Totem | 1,500 |
| Grim Relic | 1,500 |
| Mossjaw Mask | 1,500 |
| Vile Relic | 1,000 |
| Doomed Relic | 1,000 |
| Vampiric Bat Lantern | 1,000 |
| Gumball | 150 |
| Frightful Casket | 30 |
| Blobfish Mask | 10 |
Each quest’s main time sink is different: reaching goblin spawns on changing islands makes the Boglin Branch quest travel-heavy, while the Doomsekkar quest takes longer because its 50 catches must form one uninterrupted streak. Neither rod has a known cutoff date, and FischFright 3 has no announced end date. To be sure you keep both, complete both quests before the event ends.
