Pure Fiction’s Starward Mode in Honkai: Star Rail 4.6 runs on a cycle called Imagined Words. It is three nodes of wave-clearing, each scored separately and capped at the same ceiling. A full clear at the maximum score uses three teams built around Mortenax Blade at E0S1, an Elation core with E0S0 Pearl, and Himeko • Nova at E0S1. Every node lands exactly on its cap, so there is no score left on the table.
Quick answer: The maximum score is 120,000, or 40,000 per node. All 12 stars and the Prismatic Star unlock once your total passes the final 99,000-point Star Target.
Imagined Words Starward Mode score targets
Starward Mode sets a higher bar than a normal clear. Just finishing the challenge requires 45,000 points, and the remaining Star Targets climb in steps from there. The last one sits at 99,000 points. Each node caps at 40,000, which puts the theoretical maximum at 120,000.
| Target | Points required |
|---|---|
| Clear Target | 45,000 |
| Star Target | 60,000 |
| Star Target | 75,000 |
| Star Target | 90,000 |
| Star Target | 99,000 |
| Per-node cap | 40,000 |
| Maximum total | 120,000 |
The gap between 99,000 and 120,000 matters for anyone chasing the full haul. A team can drop more than 20,000 points across the three nodes and still collect every star. Another Starward run this cycle finished on 103,360 points, with 32,880 on Node 1, 40,000 on Node 2, and 30,480 on Node 3, and that total still cleared every threshold. The 120,000 figure is a ceiling, not a requirement.

Finishing Starward Mode pays out the following:
- 360 Stellar Jade
- 400 Jade Feather
- 60,000 Credit
- The Imagined Words Limited-Time Clearance Medal for the Express’s Medal Wall
A successful run is easy to confirm. A Challenge Completed screen lists the score for each node and the total. The medal then pops up showing 12/12 stars and 1/1 Prismatic Star, and the rewards become claimable right away.
Pure Fiction 4.6 bosses, weaknesses, and node buffs
Every node runs three waves. Each opens with a Fictional Ensemble mob wave, moves to an elite, and ends on a boss. The final bosses all come from older content, and each node favors different elements.
| Node | Wave 2 elite | Wave 3 boss | Boss weakness |
|---|---|---|---|
| Node 1 | Furiae Praetor | Flame Reaver of the Deepest Dark | Ice, Lightning |
| Node 2 | Dreamjolt Troupe’s Sweet Gorilla | Alloy Mechatron: King Pom-Pom | Fire, Imaginary |
| Node 3 | The Ascended | Argenti | Ice, Physical |
King Pom-Pom fights alongside an Alloy Pommy, and Argenti summons statues during the last wave. Node 2 also runs Aha’s Big Help with Voracity Corrosion active, which suits Elation teams that trigger Aha Instant attacks often.
The cycle’s Grit Mechanics revolve around Debuff Application, with Concordant Truce and Surging Grit as the Grit Effects. Players choose one of three buffs:
- Toccata raises follow-up attack and Ultimate damage for all allies. During Surging Grit, each Dejection stack becomes two stacks of this effect.
- Mirthful Cadence applies Indulgence when an ally uses an Elation Skill, so enemies take more damage for two turns. Surging Grit grants all allies 40 Punchlines.
- Fugato makes each ally attack during Surging Grit instantly trigger one DoT on the target at increased damage.
The three teams behind the 120k score
The lineups here are light on investment. Most units sit at E0, and the signature Light Cones stop at the first Superimposition. Pearl, one of the names in the run’s billing, carries no Eidolons and no signature.
| Node | Main damage | Support and sustain | Score |
|---|---|---|---|
| Node 1 | Mortenax Blade (E0S1), Ashveil (E0) | Tribbie (E0), Huohuo | 40,000 |
| Node 2 | Silver Wolf Lv.999 (E0S1), Yao Guang (E0S1) | Pearl (E0S0), a fourth Elation unit | 40,000 |
| Node 3 | Himeko • Nova (E0S1) | Robin • Summeretto (E0), Sunday (E0S1), March 7th (The Hunt) | 40,000 |
Node 1: Mortenax Blade and Ashveil
Mortenax Blade and Ashveil form a follow-up attack core here, with Tribbie buffing and Huohuo keeping everyone alive. That pairing fits Toccata, since the buff scales exactly the follow-up and Ultimate damage this team relies on. The first wave is a standard Fictional Ensemble pack, cleared before the team moves on to Furiae Praetor.

Most of the node’s runtime goes into the third wave. Flame Reaver of the Deepest Dark stretches the fight to about ten minutes in total, far longer than the two waves before it.

The node ends on the full 40,000. That score is already almost 90 percent of the 45,000 Clear Target on its own.

Node 2: Silver Wolf Lv.999 and E0S0 Pearl
Silver Wolf Lv.999 leads an all-Elation lineup with Yao Guang and Pearl, a match for Mirthful Cadence and the node’s Voracity Corrosion modifier. Waves move through Aha Instant triggers and follow-up chains, from the opening pack to Sweet Gorilla and then King Pom-Pom. This is the fastest node of the three, at roughly six and a half minutes, and it brings the running total to 80,000.
Node 3: Himeko • Nova, Robin • Summeretto, and Sunday
Himeko • Nova carries the last node, with Robin • Summeretto, Sunday, and The Hunt March 7th in support. The team stacks technique buffs in the overworld before engaging Argenti, so the fight starts with everything already active.

The opening wave is another Fictional Ensemble group. It falls to assist attacks and repeated Ultimates.

The Ascended takes the second wave, and Argenti and his statues fill the third. Argenti’s fight runs about seven minutes alone. The node finishes on 40,000 for the full 120,000.

Other 120,000-point lineups in Imagined Words
The same cap has been reached with very different rosters, so these three teams are far from the only option.
| Node | Alternative max-score team |
|---|---|
| Node 1 | Kafka, Black Swan, Hysilens, Huohuo |
| Node 1 | Aventurine, Yao Guang, Robin, Huohuo |
| Node 2 | Sparxie, Pearl, Yao Guang, Silver Wolf LV.999 |
| Node 2 | Mortenax Blade, Ashveil, Tribbie, Hyacine |
| Node 3 | Himeko • Nova, Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae, Robin • Summeretto, Welt |
| Node 3 | Himeko, Sparkle, Welt, Remembrance Trailblazer |
The Kafka DoT lineup lines up with Fugato, a rare cycle where a long power-crept archetype scores the cap. Mortenax Blade and Ashveil work on either Node 1 or Node 2, and Himeko in both her forms keeps turning up on Node 3. With 21,000 points of slack between the last Star Target and the ceiling, the real hurdle in Imagined Words is 99,000, not 120,000. Plenty of rosters that miss the cap on one node still walk away with all 12 stars and the Prismatic Star.
