In Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse, the Gate of Flesh stands sealed in the Circle of Greed, far down in the Catacombs of Paris. Three vacant eye sockets mark the door; it opens only after Rose collects three matching Eye relics, each from a different map area. Mammon’s Lair lies beyond, where The Miser awaits as the boss.
Quick answer: Collect the Thrilling Eye, Trembling Eye, and Oozing Eye. Equip all three in your relic slots, then interact with the Gate of Flesh in the Circle of Greed.

Gate of Flesh eye relic locations
All three Eyes are Key relics. Each one sits inside a fleshy growth that you have to break before you can pick it up. Strike the growth, then interact with the relic to collect it.
| Eye relic | Area | Exact spot | Nearest Mirror of Life |
|---|---|---|---|
| Paris Streets | Hospital, Street of the Tomb Masons | Undercity | |
| Holy Innocents’ Cemetery | Pillaged Tombs | Cloister | |
| Catacombs of Paris | Southern Circle of Greed | Realm of Old Night |
You can collect the Eyes in any order. Once you unlock the Hall of Mirrors, every Mirror of Life can send you to any other Mirror, so moving between these three areas only takes a few seconds.
Thrilling Eye: Hospital in Paris Streets
The Thrilling Eye is inside the Hospital on the Street of the Tomb Masons, in the northeast corner of the Paris Streets map. Fast travel to the Undercity Mirror of Life and head left onto the Street of the Tomb Masons. Climb to the upper platform and go through the door there.
Once you’re inside, work your way down to the southern end of the building. The route drops through wooden floors and passes rotating circular saws, so time your movement around them. The relic is behind a glowing red barrier. Break it and pick up the Eye.

Trembling Eye: Pillaged Tombs in Holy Innocents’ Cemetery
The Trembling Eye is in the Pillaged Tombs section of Holy Innocents’ Cemetery. Teleport to the Cloister Mirror of Life and push into the tombs from there. Along the way you’ll smash through cracked floors, swing past spike pits on grapple points, fight armored undead, and wall-jump up narrow shafts lined with spikes.
The route can call for any of these abilities:
- Arcana Whip
- Holy Light
- Smash
- Aerial Rush
- Double Jump
At the end of the path, break open the flesh around the relic and collect the Trembling Eye.

Oozing Eye: Circle of Greed in the Catacombs of Paris
The Oozing Eye is the nearest of the three relics to the gate, located in the Circle of Greed’s southern section, southwest of the Gate of Flesh. Fast travel to the Realm of Old Night Mirror of Life, then follow the left-hand path into the Catacombs.
The relic is in a treasure hall that works as an arena. When you enter, the doors lock and waves of flying creatures and crawlers spawn. Clear every wave to reopen the doors, then break the fleshy webbing around the relic and take the Oozing Eye.

Having the Eyes in your inventory isn’t enough to open the door. They have to be equipped.

You’ll know it worked when all three eye sockets on the door light up and blood floods the seal, opening a passage to Mammon’s Lair. After that, you can put your usual relics back in their slots.
Mammon’s Lair: The Miser boss and rewards
The lair is a vault full of gold coins. Walking to its center triggers a conversation between Rose, Medusa, Joan, and Leon. Then a golden knight among the treasure turns into The Miser, a huge spiked wheel with an eye at its center.
| Mammon | Value |
|---|---|
| Health | 8000 |
| Attack | 52 |
| XP | 1000 |
| Arcana card |
During the fight, Mammon charges across the room as a flying wheel, fires barrages of projectiles, and brings rocks down from the ceiling. Crowd control does almost nothing here. Mammon is immune to freeze, petrify, launch into the air, slam down, Chains of Justice root and stun, Chronomantic Dive slow, Freezing Path link, and Infernal Pyre launch. Aerial strikes are a dependable way to wear down its health bar.

Mammon’s collapse earns you the trophy “All that glitters is not gold.” Absorb the yellow orb he drops to obtain The Miser card and its spell, Wheel of Chaos. It sends a wheel toward the nearest enemy, no matter the direction. The wheel stays aloft for a few seconds; casting again before it vanishes costs less mana.
| Wheel of Chaos | Value |
|---|---|
| Attack power | 15 |
| Mana cost | 45 |
| Arcana card |
Wheel of Chaos has three gifts:
- If Rose is short on mana, she can pay with health instead, and the spell deals 50% more damage.
- Each cast deals more damage than the last. The bonus resets if you let the wheel expire without recasting.
- A random effect can trigger on each recast, with a 1/8 chance.
The card’s works of mercy are to keep a wheel spinning for 15 seconds without interruption, kill 5 different enemies with one wheel, and spend 1000 mana on recasts.

Before you leave, open the glowing chest inside Mammon’s Lair. It holds the Ferryman’s Obol.
The Ferryman’s Obol is a key item, a carved coin used to pay the Ferryman. Take it to any Ferryman’s Wharf and hand it over to receive the Ferryman’s Arcana, Freezing Path.
