Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 DMZ Operation Ghost Shipment Walkthrough

Operation Ghost Shipment in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 DMZ is not picked from the deployment menu. You start it yourself during a Hajin Dynamic Operations deployment, from a device hidden in a hillside bunker. From there it moves through a prison, a rooftop SAM site and a helicopter crash before it hands you a cargo container. The tracker labels it OPERATION: GHOST SHIPMENT.

Quick answer: Activate the Ghost Shipment device in the bunker north-east of the 14th Political Prison. Clear eight objectives, open the Lieutenant’s Cargo Container, then exfil to keep your loot.

How to start Operation Ghost Shipment on Hajin

You have to be in a Dynamic Operations deployment on Hajin and walk to the device yourself.

Deploy to Hajin in Dynamic Operations. HAJIN DYNAMIC OPERATIONS with INFIL: GROUND works for this.

On the Tac-Map, locate the Ghost Shipment contract northeast of the 14th Political Prison. Its icon marks a wooded rise between the prison and the river. Ping the icon to place a waypoint.

Take the waypoint uphill through the North Korean Wilderness until you reach a concrete bunker set into the slope.

Go down the steps and open the blast door with [F] OPEN DOOR on PC. Go through the inner door and follow the corridor to a room lit in red.

Interact with the Ghost Shipment device in the red room. A GHOST SHIPMENT – FIND THE HVT banner appears, and the HUD tracker switches to OPERATION: GHOST SHIPMENT – Find the HVT.

Before you leave, grab the Medical Bag (Sedative Inhaler) and the Stim on the floor near the start. There’s also a Tool Box (Metals) in the corridor. To get out, climb the ladder and use [F] OPEN SILO BUNKER HATCH.

Ghost Shipment objectives in order

The chain has eight objectives, split between the 14th Political Prison and The Citadel. Each one appears on the HUD tracker after you finish the one before it.

Walkthrough: Each Ghost Shipment objective

HVT and Classified Orders at the 14th Political Prison

Go to the 14th Political Prison, where the threat rating is HIGH. The Find the HVT objective clears when you reach the highlighted soldier in the exposed yard beside the excavator and trucks. He is a marked soldier with several escorts, and he has no boss health bar. No DMZ lieutenant fight is part of this chain. Use the walls and parked vehicles as cover, eliminate the escorts, then kill the marked soldier.

The HVT drops the Classified Orders where he dies. Walk over them to pick them up. That points the waypoint at the SAM site.

Capturing the SAM site on The Citadel roof

Follow the waypoint into The Citadel Prison Yard, marked THREAT: CRITICAL. Climb to the roof of The Citadel using the yellow vertical ropes (ascenders). The SAM launcher is on the roof. Soldiers come out of the rooftop doors, so clear them before you touch anything. Then go to the laptop mounted on the launcher and press [F] CAPTURE SAM SITE.

A CAPTURE TIME bar appears on the laptop and on your HUD, and it fills on its own. Your job is to stay alive. Enemies push in from the rooftop doors and around the rooftop buildings. Hold cover near the launcher until you see STEP COMPLETE – DEFEND AND CAPTURE THE SAM SITE.

Wait for the Helicopter to Be Shot Down needs nothing from you except staying alive. The captured SAM site fires at an incoming enemy helicopter and destroys it. While you wait, you can rope back down into The Citadel Prison Yard.

Looting the Lieutenant’s Cargo Container

The cargo falls from the downed helicopter into the woods just outside The Citadel’s outer wall. Fight through the guards at the prison yard gate, then climb the outer wall using the ascender rope. Snipers cover the wall walkway, so don’t stay up there long. Drop down on the far side and follow the waypoint through the trees to the container.

Opening the container brings the operation to an end. An XP payout appears with the banner OPERATION COMPLETE – GHOST SHIPMENT, while the tracker updates to OPERATION COMPLETED. You can collect the container’s loot immediately.

Exfil after Ghost Shipment

The completion banner doesn’t secure your loot. As with any DMZ deployment, you have to extract to keep what you picked up. Open the Tac-Map and choose an exfil. The one by Deadtown is reachable through the North Korean Wilderness and is marked with green smoke.

At the smoke, press [F] CALL EXFIL HELICOPTER. Stay nearby and hold out until the helicopter lands, then board it before the EXFIL DEPARTING timer runs out.

EXTRACTION SUCCESSFUL closes the match and banks everything you brought out, cargo loot included. You can also complete Ghost Shipment alongside other operations during one deployment. For instance, finish Operation Ignition Point first, then begin Ghost Shipment without leaving that deployment.
