Aion 2 went offline for its weekly maintenance on October 21 at 2:30AM ET / 8:30AM CEST (6:30AM UTC). The window runs four and a half hours, and you cannot log in until it ends. The weekly reset fired when the servers went down. The patch going live afterward adds Hard mode to Krao Cave and Draupnir, a new Ariel Daevanion Board, and a limited-time event.
Quick answer: Aion 2 servers reopen at 7:00AM ET / 1:00PM CEST (11:00AM UTC) on October 21, across all regions of the global client at the same time.

Krao Cave and Draupnir Hard mode: Entry rules
Both Expedition dungeons gain a Hard mode on top of their existing Exploration and Conquest difficulties. The bar for entry is high, and the run itself is less forgiving than Normal.
- Entry requires item level 2600.
- Bosses hit their Frenzy timer after 4 minutes.
- Each player gets 3 revives for the run.
For reference, here is how the two dungeons are set up today.
| Dungeon | Bosses (all level 45) | Party size | Time limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Krao Cave | Enhanced Harcon, Neglected Gadioton, Ultimate Berk | 1–5 | 60 minutes |
| Draupnir | Phantasmal Lakshmi, Predator Saraswati, Afflicted Bakarma, Transcendent Bakarma | 1–5 | 60 minutes |

Hard mode rewards and the Ariel Daevanion Board
Hard mode has its own loot table. Every Unique crafting material can now drop from Krao Cave and Draupnir, including Wrathful Mind, Wrathful Will, and Wrathful Ego. Kina payouts are also higher than on Normal.
- Philosopher’s Stone: Revelation (Bound) can drop, and you can pick it as a guaranteed reward.
- Ariel Fragment (Bound) is a reward, and the fragment you get depends on the dungeon.
- Expedition Hero Artwork can drop, and it has its own collector achievement.
- New Expedition (Hard) achievements reward Unique Skins.
Ariel Fragments feed the new Ariel Daevanion Board. You don’t earn its points directly. You get them by turning fragments into crystals through Substance Morph, and each dungeon caps how many you can morph. You can also break fragments down into Enhance Stones.
| Conversion | Result | Limit | Menu path |
|---|---|---|---|
| 100 Ariel Fragments | 1 Daevanion Crystal: Ariel (Bound) | 30 per character | Substance Morph > Special > Daevanion |
| 1 Ariel Fragment | 5 Enhance Stones | Unlimited | Substance Morph > Special > Consumables |
The crystal conversion is capped at 30 per character, but the Enhance Stone conversion isn’t. Plan which fragments you send to the board before turning extras into stones.

Sorcerer and Chanter skill fixes
No numbers change for any class this week. The patch fixes three Sorcerer stigma behaviors and one Chanter visual bug. On the Chanter side, Spinning Strike’s skill effects now display correctly.
Cold Storm
Cold Storm, a level 22 Spellbook stigma, has a 60-second cooldown. It slows as many as 4 enemies and leaves a Frostbite zone in its wake. Three issues have been corrected: enemies struck while Frostbite is stacked take the intended bonus damage; Frostbite’s strength now increases with your skill level; and Specialty 1 no longer causes targets in the area to receive an extra Frostbite application once the storm has ended.

Fire Wall
Fire Wall is the matching fire stigma, also level 22 with a 60-second cooldown. It drops a 1x10m wall that burns up to 4 enemies with Embers. The fix stops it from dealing extra damage to targets that don’t have Embers on them, so the bonus now only applies to burning targets.

Rise to the Challenge event: Resurrection Spiritstones for Kina
Rise to the Challenge starts after this maintenance and runs until the maintenance on December 15 (PDT) or December 16 (CEST). During that window, Resurrection Spiritstone (Season 1) is sold for Kina under Shop > Wind Breeze Merchants in two price tiers.
| Step | Price | Quantity | Purchase limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| STEP 1 | 25,000 Kina | x30 | Per server per week |
| STEP 2 | 50,000 Kina | x30 | Per server per week |

Abyss, Market, and bug fixes
The Abyss now admits more players at once, and its bosses get tougher to make up for it.
- Abyss player capacity is raised.
- The Dimensional Core in the Lower Abyss has more HP.
- Every boss that spawns in the Abyss has more HP.
- Abyss bosses Kaira and Argo have slightly larger hitboxes.
The Market restriction added on October 14, which blocks some players from listing gathered materials based on their gameplay history, has been loosened. Some previously flagged players can now trade normally. Others stay restricted.
The patch also makes three minor corrections. At Verteron, Empyrean Traces near the Dawn Legion Base and Zumion Village, which Halloween decorations had obstructed, have been relocated to accessible spots. Under Settings > Key Settings, [Movement Controls] now appears only once. Title effects have also been adjusted to agree with their item tooltips. After the servers reopen at 11:00AM UTC, characters at item level 2600 or higher should find Hard mode entries in the Krao Cave and Draupnir menus.
