In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4’s DMZ story missions, there is no universal keypad number to look up and enter. The story-mission keypads take a code the game generates for your match, and the same keypad has taken different codes in different matches. Find the code during the mission; afterward, it stays visible on screen. This guide covers three story-mission keypads; it is not a complete list of DMZ keypads. For where each mission starts, see the DMZ story missions guide.
Quick answer: Check for the code during your match. After you find it, the digits appear in the objective line or HUD, letting you enter them directly without taking notes.
| Mission | Location | Where the code comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Operation Shopping Hacks | NuriGO Mall | Laptop note at the encampment |
| Operation Iron Citadel | Chang-san Air Base Bunker | Three transfer slips |
| Operation Grid Assault | DBN Headquarters, The Grid | Two code segments from targets |
Why a copied MW4 DMZ keypad code fails
A code posted online belongs to someone else’s match. The numbers below are examples of how the codes have differed between matches.
- In one match, Shopping Hacks displayed “Use Code 1438 to Unlock Mall Security”; in another, it showed “Use Code 4937 to Unlock Mall Security”.
- Across matches, the Iron Citadel armory keypad has required 572851 once and 125815 another time.
- The Iron Citadel slips do not line up between matches either. One slip read “Second Segment: 28” and another read “Third Segment: 15”.

Add to Google Preferences →Operation Shopping Hacks: Mall Security keypad code
The mall security code comes from a laptop at NuriGO Mall, early in the Operation Shopping Hacks walkthrough. The keypad that takes it is in the underground parking area.
Operation Iron Citadel: Armory keypad code
The armory code is six digits long, formed from three pairs of digits. Each pair appears on a document headed “TRANSFER SLIP – DO NOT FILE”. The slips include the lines “Item: Armory access code fragment” and “Authority: Lt. Bale”. Each one identifies its part as First, Second or Third and provides the two digits for that segment.
The segment numbers vary between matches. Read each slip’s segment label instead of assuming which part of the code a desk holds.
Operation Grid Assault: The kill code at DBN Headquarters
Operation Grid Assault does not give you a code to read and type. You take the code from targets in two segments, compile it and then upload it. The objectives run in this order: Get the First Code Segment, Get the Second Code Segment, Compile the Code and Upload the Code.
To reach the first segment by another route, ride the lift up DBN Headquarters, climb through a window onto the yellow platform used by window washers, then ASCEND the cable to the roof. Use the radio terminal at the helipad; its screen displays an ENTER ACCESS CODE keypad. Commander Deathstalker attacks as soon as you arrive, so be prepared to fight.

A door inside Hanex Bank also shows an ENTER ACCESS CODE prompt. You do not need to open it to finish the mission.
Heavenly Luck Casino Counting Room: A keypad that needs a key
The Heavenly Luck Casino Counting Room door has a keypad and a fingerprint reader next to it, but it opens with the Counting Room Vault key. With the key, the door shows the “HEAVENLY LUCK CASINO COUNTING ROOM – UNLOCK” prompt.
