In Enshrouded 1.0 our map marks 37 fishing spots across seven regions, but you can fish in any body of water large enough. The fishing tables the game uses list all 15 fish, so your bait and some luck decide what bites. The spots themselves are on our fishing spots map.

Where to fish
The map marks 37 fishing spots across 7 regions. Veilwater Basin has the most with 10. Nomad Highlands and Albaneve Summits have 7 each, Kindlewastes has 4, and Springlands, Revelwood and Cinder’s Cradle have 3 each.

You are not limited to those spots: the Hunter’s first fishing quest tells you to “head to any body of water large enough for fishing”. The game’s fishing tables include all 15 fish, so the bait you use decides what you hook, not the spot.
How catching a fish works
Your rod card shows two numbers for that fight, Fishing Strength and Fishing Endurance. The rod descriptions say a stronger rod makes it easier to reel in a fish and a rod with more endurance lets you hold out longer. Every rod and how to get it is in the rods table below.
All 15 fish
The 15 fish break down into 3 Common, 3 Uncommon, 4 Rare and 5 Epic. “Base share” is each fish’s slice of the standard fishing table before bait is applied. That’s 13.1 percent for each Common fish, 7.8 percent for each Uncommon, 5.2 percent for each Rare and 3.3 percent for each Epic. It is not a per-cast chance.

Every species can be grilled on the Seafood Grill. Beyond that, the rarity tiers feed different stations:
- Common fish make Cat Food and Cat Food Bait at the Farmer.
- Rare fish become Fish Cutlet at the Fisher.
- Epic fish give the Fisher’s materials: Fish Filet, Fish Bones, Fish Teeth, Fish Scales, Electric Nerve and Fish Poison Gland.
- The Kitchen uses fish for Sushi, Tomato Fish Soup, Fish Chowder and Fish Tacos.
A cast can yield something other than fish: the standard table includes a Wet Boot entry and a trash/treasure entry. The lore note “A Cursed Catch” says an old rod brought up “treasure chests” and “more wet boots”.
Which bait catches which fish
Each bait tilts the catch toward certain fish. “Strong pull” lists the fish a bait weights most heavily. “Small pull” lists the ones it nudges a little.

Wild baits come from their home regions. Fire Fly appears in the Springlands at night, Moth in Revelwood and the Nomad Highlands at night, and Grasshopper in the Nomad Highlands. Scarab lives in the Kindlewastes, Pillbug in the Albaneve Summits, Frog in the Veilwater Basin and Maggots in Cinder’s Cradle.
The Fisher’s Common, Uncommon, Rare and Epic Fishing Bait I each pull only fish of their own rarity, and they unlock after his quest Nice Day For Fishing. Epic Fishing Bait II pulls Cinderscale and Specklefin and unlocks once you have a Cinderscale. Every fishing rod and how to get it
There are five rods. Simple has 1 Strength and 30 Endurance, Cursed has 2 and 40, Improved has 2 and 45, Lucky has 3 and 50, and Excellent has 3 and 55. Four of the rod descriptions, word for word:
A basic fishing rod made out of the simplest ingredients. Don’t pull too hard, or it might break. It also doesn’t lay particularly well in the hand, so long fights are not possible with it.

Fishing quests and their rewards
Four of the five rods, and the Fisher’s bait recipes, come through quests. Here is what each one asks and gives:
- Unknown Waters (Hunter): Catch 5 or more Fireflies, make a fishing rod, then land your first fish. The reward is a Simple Fishing Rod and 150 XP.
- Nice Day For Fishing (Fisher): Gather Frogs in the Veilwater Basin, have the Fisher craft you an Excellent Fishing Rod, then catch an epic fish. The reward is an Excellent Fishing Rod and 400 XP.
- Lucky Catch (Fisher): Locate the Mariner’s hiding spot and search it. The reward is a Lucky Fishing Rod and 400 XP.
- The Good Old Days (Fisher): Deliver 10 epic fish of one kind, followed by Fish Tacos, and then find a mermaid story. The reward is Fish Tacos, Pink Eyes and 225 XP.
- A Cursed Catch (Nomad Highlands): In Pondsworth, locate the cursed fisher, then search the basement there. The reward is the Cursed Fishing Rod and 125 XP.
