Adopt Me: Where Is the Supermarket and How to Buy Food and Drinks

In Adopt Me, when a pet is thirsty and you have nothing to drink, the game tells you “You do not have the requested items.” and then “Get a Drink at the Supermarket”. You can reach the Supermarket from your backpack in a few taps, and food and drinks there are cheap.

Quick answer: Open the Backpack, go to the FOOD tab, tap the green “+” tile, and choose Yes to teleport inside The Supermarket. Walk up to an item until an “E” prompt appears, press E, then follow the purchase card.

You don’t need to find the building on foot. The backpack’s food menu has a built-in teleport that puts you straight inside.

Tap the blue backpack button at the bottom centre of the screen. The Backpack opens on whichever tab you used last.

Pick the FOOD tab, the orange burger icon in the column of tabs on the left. The panel heading changes to “FOOD”.

Tap the big green “+” tile, which sits first in the item grid. A card appears that reads “Teleport to The Supermarket?” with No and Yes buttons.

Choose Yes. Your character lands inside The Supermarket, right at the door. We only used this teleport, so the walking route on the map is not covered here.

You’ll know you’ve arrived when you see an NPC named Justin standing behind the counter next to the door. A hot dog grill, a counter with donuts and cups, a row of glass fridges, and wooden crates of watermelon and apples fill the rest of the shop.

How to buy food and drinks at the Supermarket

You buy at the item itself: both of our purchases were made right at the grill and the fridge, without going to the counter.

Walk up to the food or drink you want, such as the hot dog grill. Keep moving closer until an “E” prompt appears.

Press E to open the purchase card. It might say “Buy Hotdog for $2 each?” and show a quantity field set to 1, a green “+” beside it, and Cancel and “Buy ($2)” buttons.

Press “Buy ($2)”. The cost comes out of your Bucks, the green $ counter in the top right. Our one Hotdog took our balance from 4,770 to 4,768, and a Chocolate Milk after it from 4,768 to 4,766.

Supermarket prices for food and drinks

Food isn’t free, but it’s close. Each of these cards reads “for $2 each?”.

If a pet is thirsty and you have no drink, the game says, “Get a Drink at the Supermarket”. A Hotdog and a Chocolate Milk together cost 4 Bucks. We did not check the prices of the other things on the shelves (hams, drumsticks, cans, watermelon, apples, donuts).

Where food goes after you buy it

As soon as you buy an item, it lands in the hotbar space beside the backpack button, and your character holds it. The Hotdog shows as a hot dog, while the Chocolate Milk appears as a cup with a straw.
