Quick answer: Inanis’ Memory Flower has six petals scattered around Crimson Forest, near the Mirrorwood Entrance, Burial Grounds, Parting Mists and Mirrorwood Depths bells. Completing the set finishes Resonant Strings and increases maximum HP by 10%.
Inanis’ Memory Flower in Phantom Blade Zero is split into six petals across Crimson Forest in Chapter 1. Each petal is a glowing blue flower sitting in a bed of blue flowers. Walk up to it and press E when the “E” prompt appears. The petals add no HP one at a time. The bonus only arrives once the sixth is picked up.
Five of the petals are a short walk from a bell. Petal IV is the exception. It takes two grapples and a few fights to reach, so its route is laid out step by step below.
| Petal | Where it is | Nearest bell |
|---|---|---|
| I. THE PERFORMANCE | Rocky gorge beyond the Stone Hand Iron Fever clearing | Mirrorwood Entrance |
| II. GRAVELY ILL | Burial Grounds clearing, among the enemy group | Burial Grounds |
| III. THE GILDED LOTUS | Large rock with a small stone lantern, low foggy forest | Burial Grounds |
| IV. AN UNINVITED GUEST | Forest clearing under a cliff, two grapples away | Parting Mists |
| V. SOUL DISPLACEMENT SCROLL | Beside a stream | Mirrorwood Depths |
| VI. NEW LIFE | Through a gate between two lantern-hung trees | Mirrorwood Depths |
The road past petal III leads on to the Parting Mists bell, which is where the petal IV route begins.
Petal I: THE PERFORMANCE
Begin at the Mirrorwood Entrance bell and descend the ladders to the muddy clearing where you fight Stone Hand Iron Fever. A large pale tree stands at the base of the second ladder. Pass through the opening behind it, then take the shaded stone trail uphill into a rocky gorge.
After about 45 metres, turn left. A bed of blue flowers lies beneath a huge, twisted tree, with a dry-stone wall behind it. In the memory, Inanis allows her dizzy young daughter to miss pipa practice, but cautions that every day away sets back her progress and urges her to play only for herself.

Don’t mix this up with the single Memory Flower Left by Inanis at the first Crimson Forest bell. That one is a separate flower and does not count toward this set.

Add to Google Preferences →Petal II: GRAVELY ILL
This petal lies in a clearing roughly 35 metres from the Burial Grounds bell. Five enemies guard the area: two Corrupted Arsonists, a Shield Brute and two Corrupted Brutes. Expect a fight around the flower bed before you can collect the petal safely.

In the memory, the girl says she feels unwell, and Inanis tries to comfort her. A mysterious voice declares that the illness has no cure. Inanis vows to destroy Menghua, who put a Rift inside the child that consumes her memories.
Petal III: THE GILDED LOTUS
Starting at the petal II flower bed, pass through the stone arch at the rear of the Burial Grounds clearing. The road slopes down by giant urns and broken machinery. Continue downhill beyond a small stone lantern, then enter the foggy forest.
Follow the low path through the fog for about 110 metres until you reach a large rock with a small stone lantern beside it. The petal is at its foot. Crows perch throughout this forest, but they stay put as you walk by.

Within the memory, a hidden voice reveals that illusion sustains the Gilded Lotus, Inanis’s renowned Wulin pleasure house. Inanis explains that her illusions remove turmoil from the world, while her daughter is the one reality she knows. Keep following the road to the Parting Mists bell.
Petal IV: AN UNINVITED GUEST (route from Parting Mists)
Start from the Parting Mists bell. Two groups of ranged enemies wait along the way, so you want full health on arrival.

In the memory, the girl has been bedridden for three years, fears she is dying and keeps practising the pipa in her head. Mu Tianmiao, the Shadow Sovereign, then visits Inanis. He offers her the complete Soul Displacement Scroll, which his Order took when it wiped out the Lóng Clan, if she joins the Order against Menghua and the Eleven.
Petal V: SOUL DISPLACEMENT SCROLL
Leave the petal IV clearing by heading down through the pines to the low ground. Follow the trail for roughly 130 metres to the Mirrorwood Depths bell, then ring it and rest. Petal V lies about 10 metres away, in bright blue flowers beside a stream.

In the memory, Inanis reads a Thread-Binding Sect scroll about using fine threads to extract someone’s consciousness and attach it to a puppet. Her plan is to transfer her daughter’s memories into a vessel prepared for her.
Petal VI: NEW LIFE
Travel about 35 metres from the Mirrorwood Depths bell and pass through the gate between the two lantern-hung trees. On the far side, Petal VI rests in the glowing blue flower bed, with a glowing portal nearby. Entering the bed causes webs of thread to seal the route behind you.

Crows and enemies called Little Rascal wander near the bell. Their Archives entry describes them as “untouchable as phantoms”, and they cannot be killed. Pass the Little Rascal enemies and engage only the crows.
Inanis becomes skilled in Soul Displacement, creates a perfect vessel and burns the scroll to prevent anyone from copying it. As the Rift takes her daughter more quickly, the girl’s breathing grows fainter, and Inanis concludes that no other option remains.
Resonant Strings reward: +10% maximum HP
Every petal shows the same card when you pick it up. It carries the small label “Memory Flower Petals”, the title “INANIS’ MEMORY FLOWER”, the petal’s name, a row of six petal marks, and the line “(N/6) Collect all Memory Remnants to increase HP +10%”. The N counts how many petals you’ve collected so far, not the petal’s number. Grab petal IV fifth and it reads “(5/6)”.
After each card, a “RESONANT STRINGS” banner shows the running total, such as “Collect Memory Flowers of Inanis and the Chord (5/6)”.

The card for the sixth petal displays “(6/6) All Memory Remnants collected. HP increased +10%”, followed by the RESONANT STRINGS completion banner. That confirms the set is complete. On PATHBREAKER, maximum HP increases from 935 to 1,020. The starting 935 includes two earlier +5% Memory Flower bonuses: one from Memory Flower Left by Inanis and one from the two-petal flower of Stone Hand Iron Fever.

Loading an older save wipes any petals collected after that save, and you’ll have to pick them up again.
Enemies on the petal IV route and difficulty
The petal IV climb is the hardest part of the set, and difficulty makes a real difference here.
- Corrupted Arsonists (2), on the ledge beyond the first grapple: They retreat while hurling fire bottles, leaving burning patches that chip away at health. This pair can easily kill you on PATHBREAKER. On WAYFARER, rushing them and keeping up the pressure brings them down in about 19 and 48 seconds.
- Knife-Throwing Madwomen (2), branch landing: on PATHBREAKER they can win if you land on low health. On WAYFARER each one goes down in under a minute.
- Corrupted Brute (1), rise before the flower: beatable on PATHBREAKER in about 33 seconds.
If you die, damaged enemies reset to full health, but any you killed stay dead. You can lower or raise the difficulty at any time. Press Esc, open the SYSTEM tab, go to the Game page and choose “Select Difficulty“.
