Wooden Sanguine is the wooden one-handed weapon Soul carries in his youth, and it is the blade you play the opening with.
When you have Wooden Sanguine
The game hands you Wooden Sanguine at the very start, during the opening prologue. There is nothing to collect, unlock or pay for. The weapon leaves your inventory when Hook Man is beaten.

The weapon card reads: “The wooden blade Soul used in his youth, a testament to his exceptional skill and confidence.”
The Phantom Blade Zero weapons list gives Wooden Sanguine base stats of 160 Damage and 94 Guard Break. These are the lowest values among the One-Handed weapons, below Sanguine with 200 Damage and 100 Guard Break.
Its card lists three arts:
- Wooden Blade Flurry: “[Power Surge] Consumes 1 Sha-Chi Essence to unleash a rapid flurry of slashes. This attack is unblockable.”
- Back to Basics (available from level 5): “A Parry depletes more of the enemy’s Sha-Chi.”
