Quick answer: The Gnomeregan entrance lies in Dun Morogh’s west, a long way from Ironforge; the game suggests starting at level 25 or above.
Where is Gnomeregan?
In World of Warcraft: Forever, Gnomeregan sits in western Dun Morogh, a good distance west of Ironforge. Open the Dun Morogh map and look to the left side. The entrance is tucked into the snowy hills there.
Your nearest flight path depends on your faction. Both distances below are straight lines on the map, not walking routes.
- Alliance: the closest flight path inside Dun Morogh is Ironforge, and the entrance lies to its west.
- Horde: the closest flight path is Kargath in the Badlands, and the entrance lies to its northwest.
Gnomeregan level, group size and faction
The game recommends level 25 and up for starting Gnomeregan. It is a dungeon for a group of 5 players.
The area belongs to the Alliance. Dungeons in WoW Forever are open to both factions, so Horde players can still run it. Expect a longer trip through hostile land to reach the entrance.
Gnomeregan bosses
Gnomeregan has five bosses, faced in this order:
- Grubbis
- Viscous Fallout
- Electrocutioner 6000
- Crowd Pummeler 9-60
- Mekgineer Thermaplugg
Legacy achievement
Clearing Gnomeregan counts toward Experienced Spelunker, an achievement whose game text reads “Complete the following dungeons.” It rewards 1 Legacy Point, which feeds into your Legacy talents. Each listed dungeon is credited when you defeat its final boss, and in Gnomeregan that is Mekgineer Thermaplugg.
| Achievement | Dungeons to complete | Reward |
|---|---|---|
Experienced Spelunker | City of Dalaran, The Drowned City, Blackfathom Deeps, Gnomeregan, Razorfen Kraul, Scarlet Monastery: Graveyard, Scarlet Monastery: Library, Scarlet Monastery: Armory, Scarlet Monastery: Cathedral, Krol'dok Stronghold | 1 Legacy Point |
Dungeons to run before and after
In leveling order, Gnomeregan sits between these dungeons:
- Before: Razorfen Kraul (24+) and Excavation Site (24-29)
- After: City of Dalaran (28-33) and Scarlet Monastery (30+)
The full ladder is in the WoW Forever dungeons by level list.
