Traits are passive modifiers in Sailor Piece that quietly carry your whole build. Each one stacks a damage multiplier, a defense multiplier, and sometimes cooldown reduction on top of your race, sword, melee, and clan. Because the top traits multiply your numbers instead of adding to them, the difference between a Common roll and a Secret roll is enormous, which is why most serious accounts spend reroll items chasing a single passive.
Quick answer: Reroll toward a Secret-rarity trait. Emperor (2.30x Damage) and Celestial (2.20x Damage) carry the highest damage multipliers, while Overlord (2x Defense) is the survivability pick. All of them give 25–30% cooldown reduction, so any Secret trait is a keeper.

Rankings follow practical value rather than raw rarity. Damage scaling drives most of the placement, with cooldown reduction acting as the tiebreaker because it raises sustained DPS on ability-heavy builds. Defense matters for boss survivability but rarely outweighs a stronger damage multiplier.

Emperor and Celestial are the default targets for any damage-focused character because their 2.20x–2.30x damage multipliers, paired with 30% cooldown reduction, raise both burst and sustained output. Cataclysm and Singularity sit just behind them and still clear the same content, so there is no reason to reroll past any of these once you land one.
If you run a tank or boss-survival route, Overlord (2x Defense) and Sovereign (1.85x Defense) give the biggest health-and-defense walls while keeping respectable damage. Godspeed is the standout outside of Secret rarity for ability-spam builds, since its 25% cooldown reduction matches Overlord while staying easier to roll.
Note: Legendary and Epic traits like Genesis, Dominator, Unstoppable, and Overdrive are fine while you build up reroll items, but they fall off in endgame and the second sea. Treat anything from Rare downward as a temporary placeholder you will replace as soon as a better roll appears.
How to reroll traits in Sailor Piece
Traits are assigned randomly through the Trait Reroll system, so you cannot pick a passive directly. You gather reroll items, then spend them at a single NPC to gamble for a new trait.
You can stockpile extra rerolls and other freebies by redeeming active Sailor Piece codes before you start farming. The game itself runs through the official Sailor Piece experience on Roblox.

How to confirm your trait changed
After a successful reroll, the NPC menu updates to show the new trait name and rarity, and the passive applies to your character immediately. Open the Stats tab to verify the active trait and check that your damage, defense, and cooldown values reflect the new multipliers.
A reroll will not go through if you have no Trait Reroll items in your inventory, so confirm your item count before walking up to the NPC. Compare the new trait against your sword, melee, or fruit route before spending more rerolls, because keeping a strong passive that matches your build matters more than chasing a marginally higher multiplier.
