The 10 fish split into two groups. Three are open-water catches you can pull anywhere in Sea 1 with no special setup. The other seven only bite during a Patriot Shark Hunt, a localized event that spawns on the water. Keep an eye on the global event chat so you can boat over to any hunt that appears near you.

Triggering a Patriot Shark Hunt
A Patriot Shark Hunt is a variant of the normal Shark Hunt. When you blow a Shark Whistle, there is a roughly 33.33% chance the resulting hunt becomes the Patriot version instead of a standard one. It will not spawn from a Sundial Totem, so the whistle is your only reliable trigger.
Each hunt lasts 15 minutes or ends the moment a shark is caught. More than one player can land the shark at the same time, as long as everyone is reeling together. Since the Patriot roll is not guaranteed, expect to whistle several times before you see one.
Note: Private servers speed this up. Whistle, and if a normal hunt spawns instead of the Patriot one, reset the server and try again until the Patriot Shark Hunt appears.

Rewards come from Liberty Larry, who sits under the decorated booth on Fischfest 2 Island at GPS (-24076, 2593, -4479). He pays out as you discover more of the limited bestiary, starting at a single fish and topping out at all 10. Discovery counts once per species, so every unique fish moves the track forward.

You know a tier unlocked when the reward lands in your inventory and the badge or title registers on your profile. Reaching all 10 is the only way to earn the Liberty-Line rod, since it is gated behind discovering at least 10 fish from the event bestiary.
Liberty-Line rod and the Liberty mutation
The Liberty-Line is the one rod added for the event, and it keeps its value after the seas close. It carries a 25% chance to apply the Liberty mutation, a 7.42026× value multiplier that is otherwise exclusive to Patriotic Seas. That mutation stays obtainable year-round through the rod, which makes finishing the full bestiary the lasting payoff of the event.
