Track down the goose bullying a bear in Qinghe, steal its moves, and add a wide AoE support skill to your kit.

Track down the goose bullying a bear in Qinghe, steal its moves, and add a wide AoE support skill to your kit.

Honking Havoc is one of the stranger Mystic Skills in Where Winds Meet, and you earn it by watching a goose beat up a bear. The skill is tied to the “Who’s the Boss?” exploration quest in Qinghe, and unlocking it comes down to reaching one spot on the map and using Skill Theft. No combat gauntlet, no puzzle chain.

Quick answer: Travel to the stream between the Blissful Retreat and West Heaven’s Pier waypoints in Qinghe, stand across from the goose that is bullying a bear, then Observe it and complete Skill Theft to learn Honking Havoc.

Where to find the “Who’s the Boss?” quest in Qinghe

The encounter sits in Qinghe on Moonveil Mountain, near the edge of the map. It runs along a stream between two fast-travel points, West Heaven’s Pier and Blissful Retreat. Blissful Retreat is the closer of the two, so it is the better landing spot.

You can also pull the objective up from the Exploration quests page and follow the tracking marker straight to the goose.

Steal Honking Havoc from the goose

Fast travel to the Blissful Retreat waypoint. It is the nearest teleport option to the quest location.

Head from Blissful Retreat toward the marked spot along the stream. A horse cuts the travel time down noticeably if you have one.
Find the goose that is pushing a black bear around at the water’s edge. This is the target, and yes, the goose is winning.

Stand on the opposite side of the stream and use Observe on the goose to line up the theft.
Begin Skill Theft on the goose and let the action play out until it finishes.

Once the theft completes, Honking Havoc is added to your Mystic Skills. That confirmation is how you know it worked. If the theft prompt does not appear, make sure you are positioned across the stream with a clear line to the goose and that you have run Observe first.

What Honking Havoc does

Honking Havoc is an Offensive Mystic Skill in the Support sub-category. Activating it clamps the goose’s throat and forces it to honk forward, dealing area damage and applying Breath-hold to enemies caught in the blast. The goose then breaks loose, flails with a short kick that hits a small zone in front of you, and flies off.

Because the honk covers a wide area, the skill is best aimed at packed groups of enemies rather than single targets. Its cost and cooldown shift as you rank it up.

Tier breakthroughs for Honking Havoc

Most Mystic Skills scale across four Tiers split into nine smaller Ranks. Ranks raise the general effectiveness, while each Tier past the first adds a new effect. Advancing costs resources, and Honking Havoc pulls from Ebon Iron and Vicious Fruit.

TierBonus
Tier 2 — Duration ExtensionAdds 1.5 seconds to the Breath-hold duration.
Tier 3 — Strategy EnhancementStrengthens the second chirp’s impact against non-player targets.
Tier 4 — Energy EnhancementLowers the Vitality cost by 10 points.

With every tier folded in, Honking Havoc holds its 40-second cooldown while dropping to 60 Vitality and extending the crowd control window. That makes it a reliable opener against clustered enemies, and it all starts with one goose that punches above its weight.
