Claiming What’s Due in AC Black Flag Resynced: Stealth Full Sync, 2 Chests, and the Viewpoint

How to clear the stealth memory undetected and pick up both nearby chests and the area viewpoint.

The “Claiming What’s Due” memory in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is a stealth-focused mission that also sits next to two lootable chests and a viewpoint. To finish it cleanly, you need to move through the objective without being detected, then sweep the surrounding area for the collectibles before you leave.

Quick answer: Clear the memory by staying hidden and using crouch and parry to avoid or reset combat, then open both chests and sync the viewpoint in the same area to fully complete the segment.

What the memory asks of you

This is a stealth memory, so the priority is reaching the target and completing the objective while staying out of sight. In the remade version, being spotted during a stealth sequence is far less punishing than it was in the 2013 release, which changes how you should approach it.

The two chests and the viewpoint are not part of the main objective. They are optional pickups in the same region that you can grab during the memory or immediately after it, and they are worth collecting while you are already there.

Stealth changes in Resynced that make this easier

The remake rebuilds stealth and combat on the newer Anvil engine, and several of those changes directly affect a memory like this one. The combat now plays closer to Assassin’s Creed Shadows, with new parrying, and you can crouch anywhere during stealth sections instead of only near set cover.

ChangeWhy it matters here
Crouch everywhere in stealthLets you stay low across open ground, not just behind fixed cover, so you can pick a quieter path to the objective.
Reworked combat and parryingIf you are pulled into a fight, you can defend and reset rather than losing the memory outright.
Flexible tailing and eavesdroppingThese missions no longer instantly desynchronize the moment you are spotted, giving you room to recover.

The practical takeaway is that a single mistake no longer forces a full restart. Use crouch to close distance quietly, and keep parry ready for the moment things go loud.

Playing the stealth section undetected

Scout the area first. Before you push toward the objective, stay back and read enemy positions and patrol routes so you can plan a path that keeps guards between you and open sightlines.
Move crouched between cover. Use the ability to stay low across the whole space to break line of sight and avoid stepping into a guard’s view.
Thin out only the guards blocking your route. Silent takedowns keep the alarm down, and you can switch back to blades and pistols if a guard turns toward you.
If you are spotted, do not panic. Parry or retreat to break the encounter, wait for guards to lose interest, then continue toward the objective.

Grabbing the two chests and the viewpoint

Chests hold resources and coin, and they show up as icons once you are close enough. Clear both before you finish the memory so you do not have to travel back later to a location that may be re-garrisoned.

The viewpoint is the more valuable pickup. Climb to the highest marked point in the area and sync it to reveal the surrounding map, which also surfaces nearby icons and makes finding anything you missed much faster. Combine the climb with the memory’s stealth movement so you are not exposed on the way up.

Tip: Sync the viewpoint before hunting the chests. Once the map is revealed, the two chest icons are easier to spot and you avoid searching blindly.

How to confirm it all counts

You know the memory is done when the objective completes and the mission wraps to its result screen. The viewpoint registers the moment the synchronize prompt fires and the map around you fills in, and each chest confirms with an open animation and a loot notification.

If a chest icon is still on your map, you have not opened it yet. Return to it while you are in the area rather than leaving and coming back, since guards can repopulate once the memory ends.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is out on July 9, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through the Ubisoft Store, Steam, and the Epic Games Store, so you can tackle this memory the moment you set sail as Edward Kenway.
