The 1.0 update added a tier of late-game accessories to Palworld, and their recipes lean on three materials you cannot buy from any Wandering Merchant. Ancient Bark, Ancient Lava, and Ancient Bone each live on their own Wildlife Sanctuary island, glow with a bright sparkle, and only drop when you break them with the correct tool. Each node hands over roughly 30 of its material per harvest.
Quick answer: Chop the glowing tree stumps on Wildlife Sanctuary No. 1 (south, near the start) for Ancient Bark, mine the purple lava nodes on Sanctuary No. 2 (west, around -690, -106) for Ancient Lava, and mine the skeletal ribcage nodes on Sanctuary No. 3 (far northeast, around 664, 636) for Ancient Bone.

Where each Ancient material spawns
All three resources are tied to the Sanctuary islands scattered across Palpagos. The nodes are easy to spot once you are close because every one carries a sparkle effect and a faint glow. Bring a fast-flying mount so you can hop between spawns and leave before the island guardians corner you.
| Material | Sanctuary | Node type | Tool |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ancient Bark | No. 1 (south, near the starting area, ~57, -677) | Glowing tree stumps | Axe / Plasma Multicutter |
| Ancient Lava | No. 2 (west, ~-690, -106) | Purple glowing rock | Pickaxe / mining tool |
| Ancient Bone | No. 3 (far northeast, ~664, 636) | Skeletal ribcage | Pickaxe / Plasma Multicutter |
Note: Every Sanctuary is patrolled by drones and PIDF guards that open fire on you and your Pal the moment they spot you inside the dome. If you get caught in their line of sight, you trigger a Wanted status. Break a few nodes, then move out past the dome walls until the drones retreat back inside.

Ancient Bark is an Uncommon, wood-type material (item code Wood_Ancient). It is worth 800 Gold each, weighs 5, and stacks up to 9,999, which makes it something you gather in bulk rather than pick up by accident.

Farm them passively with the Ancient Relic Recycler
Once you reach the endgame World Tree biome and unlock the Ancient Relic Recycler, you no longer have to keep flying island runs. Feed collected Ancient Relics into the machine at your base, and it produces a steady output of these materials, Ancient Bone included, on its own.
The recycler needs power to run, so build a Power Generator and assign a Pal to generate electricity for it. That turns a fight-heavy grind into a background chore while you handle other tasks.
What the Ancient materials build
These materials exist to gate the new endgame accessories, and none of them sell through a Wandering Merchant. Ancient Bone alone feeds seven recipes, each eating 30 to 60 units per craft on top of a schematic and a heavy Gold cost. Stockpile well beyond a single craft if you plan to gear up backup Pals.
| Accessory | Ancient Bone | Gold cost |
|---|---|---|
| Dogen Emblem | 30 | 400,000 |
| Silvegis Emblem | 30 | 400,000 |
| Wandering Merchant Charm | 30 | 400,000 |
| Vanguard Charm | 30 | 400,000 |
| Air Walker Mk III | 30 | 300,000 |
| Air Walker EX | 60 | 350,000 |
| Phantom Ring | 30 | 600,000 |
The Dogen Emblem raises your Attack and your active Pal’s Attack to Level 4, while the Vanguard Charm increases heat and cold resistance along with health. Ancient Bark and Ancient Lava cover a separate set of accessories aimed at resistance and mobility.
| Accessory | Material | Amount | Effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reptyro Charm | Ancient Bark | 30 | Adds heavy fire damage resistance |
| Pal Tamer’s Glasses | Ancient Bark | 15 | Stops attacked Pals dropping below 1 HP, reveals hidden potentials |
| Air Walker Mk I | Ancient Bark | 15 | Grants a mid-air jump and dash |
| Ring of Trust | Ancient Lava | 30 | Makes it easier to raise trust with your Pals |
Because the Sanctuary islands and the Ancient Relic Recycler are the only ways to keep your accessory bench stocked, farm a comfortable surplus before you commit to a build. Running dry mid-craft is the most common way players stall out on this endgame gear.
