Anime Expeditions runs on a large stack of items that feed summoning, leveling, evolution, and rerolling. Most drop from Story stages, Challenges, Raids, and the Expeditions mode, while a handful come only from crafting or specific unit trials. Knowing the exact source of each item stops you from wasting a rare sprite or a Trait Crystal on the wrong unit.
Quick answer: Farm Story stages and Challenges for Gold, Gems, and Grey Sprites; craft Grey Sprites into colored sprites for evolution; complete a unit’s own trial to get its evolution item; and feed food items to units for EXP. Everything else ties to a specific mode such as Raids, Tournaments, or Expeditions.
Currencies and shop tokens
These are the spendable resources that keep an account moving. Gems drive summoning, Gold covers upgrades, evolution costs, and shop purchases, and the remaining tokens each unlock rewards in their own dedicated shop.
| Currency | Use | How to get |
|---|---|---|
| Gold | Gold Shop and Cosmetic Shop, crafting, unit evolution, and the Expeditions mode | Story, Raids, Challenges, Quests, Level Milestones, and quick-selling units |

| Beginner’s Ticket | Summon on the Beginner’s Banner, which guarantees Mythic units after enough pulls | Beginner’s Path Starter Event chapters |
| Event Coin | Buy items from event shops | Limited, Boost, and Update Events |

Add to Google Preferences →Sprites for evolution and crafting
Sprites are the backbone of unit evolution and equipment crafting. Grey Sprites are the base material you farm, and you convert them into the colored variants at the Crafting station. Hoard Grey Sprites early and only convert them when a unit is ready to evolve.
| Sprite | How to get |
|---|---|
| Grey Sprite | Challenges, Crafting, and Mastery Stages of Story Mode |
| Blue Sprite | Challenges and Crafting |
| Green Sprite | Challenges and Crafting |
| Pink Sprite | Challenges and Crafting |
| Purple Sprite | Challenges and Crafting |
| Red Sprite | Challenges and Crafting |
| Yellow Sprite | Challenges and Crafting |
| Rainbow Sprite | Daily Challenges, Weekly Challenges, and Crafting |
Every sprite is used to evolve units and, for most colors, to craft equipment. Green Sprites also feed into ascension, and Rainbow Sprites are reserved for higher-end evolution recipes.
Unit evolution items and their trials
Each evolvable unit needs a unique item that drops from a specific trial. Complete the listed trial to receive the item, then bring it plus the required sprites and Gold to the evolution screen. The one exception is the Holy Pendant, which you craft rather than earn from a trial.
| Item | Evolves | How to get |
|---|---|---|
| Hollowed Visor | Reaper → Reaper (Released) | Mirror of the False Moonblade trial, Spirit City Raid |
| Joker of the Nonsensical Pirates | String Demon → String Demon (Awakened) | Strings of Captivity trial, Rose Kingdom (Story) |
| Salmon | Salmon Sorcerer → Salmon Sorcerer (Grade 1) | Tuna Tuna trial, School Grounds (Story) |
| Puppet Heart | Puppet → Puppet (Telekinetic) | A Puppet’s Heart trial, Fairy King Forest (Story) |
| Giant Hammer | Lady Giant → Lady Giant (Envy) | Giant’s Resolve trial, Fairy King Forest (Story) |
| Elixir of Life | Hollow → Hollow (Blaze) | Elixir of Life trial, Flower Forest (Story) |
| Burning Fruit | Flame Emperor → Flame Emperor (Reincarnate) | Fire That Spread trial |
| Cosmic Magic | Elf Mage → Elf Mage (Unleashed) | Last Great Elvan Mage trial, King’s Tomb (Story) |
| Student ID | Cursed Student → Cursed Student (True Love) | Love & Loss trial, School Grounds (Story) |
| Holy Pendant | True Saint → True Saint (Holy) | Craft at the Crafting station: 10,000 Gold, 3x Red Sprite, 3x Pink Sprite |
| 8th’s Sword | 8th Sword → 8th Sword (Berserk) | Way of the Strongest trial, Spirit City Raid |

Food items for unit EXP
Food items level up units directly when you feed them. Each one grants a fixed amount of EXP, so use the highest-value food you have when pushing a carry. Most drop in a specific Story map and can also be bought from the Wandering Trader and the Gold Shop.
| Item | EXP | How to get |
|---|---|---|
| Cursed Boba | 700 | School Grounds (Story), Wandering Trader, Gold Shop |
| Red Flower | 1,000 | Flower Forest (Story), Wandering Trader, Gold Shop |
| Frown Fruit | 1,500 | Rose Kingdom (Story), Wandering Trader, Gold Shop |
| Delicious Pie | 1,750 | Fairy King Forest (Story), Wandering Trader, Gold Shop |
| Mana Flask | 2,000 | King’s Tomb (Story), Wandering Trader, Gold Shop |
| Bunny Candy | 2,000 | Spirit City (Raid), Wandering Trader, Gold Shop |
Reroll and lock materials
These items fine-tune a unit after you pull it. Rerolls change traits, stats, or equipment potential, while locks protect a good result before you spin again. Hold Trait Crystals for your strongest Mythic carry rather than spending them on filler rares.
| Material | Use | How to get |
|---|---|---|
| Trait Crystals | Reroll a unit’s Trait | Story, Raids, Events, Challenges, Quests, Tournaments, Index, Achievements, Gold Shop, Raid Shop, Spirit City Raid Shop, Event Shop |
| Stat Reroll | Reroll a unit’s stats | Challenges, Achievements, Gold Shop, Raid Shop, Spirit City Raid Shop, Event Shop |
| Stat Lock | Lock one unit stat before rerolling | Challenges, Achievements, Gold Shop, Raid Shop, Spirit City Raid Shop, Event Shop |
| Equipment Reroll | Reroll an equipment substat | Daily Challenges, Weekly Challenges, Gold Shop, Raid Shop, Spirit City Raid Shop, Event Shop |
| Equipment Lock | Lock one equipment substat | Daily Challenges, Weekly Challenges, Gold Shop, Raid Shop, Spirit City Raid Shop, Event Shop |
Note: Stat Rerolls roll a unit’s Damage, Range, and SPA potential, so lock the value you already like before spending another reroll on it.
Expedition mode materials
A separate set of resources only appears inside the Expeditions game mode. You use them to craft Equipment at the Armory and to upgrade Expedition buildings, and they drop from clearing the mode’s stages. Because these are tied to timed content, collect them while the relevant nodes are live.
| Material | How to get |
|---|---|
| Cursed Timber | School Grounds in Expeditions |
| Lush Dirt | Flower Forest in Expeditions |
| Aqua Shard | Rose Kingdom in Expeditions |
| Equipment Scrap | School Grounds, Flower Forest, and Rose Kingdom in Expeditions |
| Fuel Cell | School Grounds, Flower Forest, and Rose Kingdom in Expeditions |
Every one of these materials serves the same two purposes: crafting Equipment at the Armory and upgrading Expedition buildings.
Summon boosts and raid extras
A few items sit outside the main farming loop. Luck Potions raise your odds of pulling a higher-tier unit and are bought with Robux, so treat them as an optional accelerator rather than a farmable drop. The Spirit City Totem is a raid-shop purchase that buffs your units’ damage inside Spirit City raids.
| Item | Use | How to get |
|---|---|---|
| Luck Potion | Increases the chance of summoning a higher-tier unit | Purchase with Robux |
| Super Luck Potion | Massively increases that chance | Purchase with Robux |
| Spirit City Totem | +10% unit damage in Spirit City raids | Spirit City raid shop |
If you are early in the game, the fastest path is to grind Story mode for Gold, Gems, and Grey Sprites, then convert sprites only when a unit is ready to evolve. Save Trait Crystals for a Mythic carry, complete each unit’s trial when you want its evolved form, and keep a small reserve of currency for banner changes and new events. Anime Expeditions is still in early access, so the item pool can grow as fresh modes and events roll out.
