Where you drop your Palbox in Palworld 1.0 decides how much time you spend hauling materials versus actually playing. The strongest base spots either sit on top of dense resource nodes or sit somewhere raids physically cannot reach, and a few manage both. Below are the confirmed coordinates for each type, from your first camp to a self-sufficient endgame setup.
Quick answer: For a raid-proof endgame base with ore and coal, build on the mountain near the Sealed Realm of the Mystic at 188, -37 and place the Palbox in the center of the circle.

Base coordinates by resource
Use this as your master reference. Each spot is picked because it either clusters multiple nodes under one Palbox or blocks raid pathing.
| Purpose | Coordinates | Nearby landmark | Raidable? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Early start base | 247, -500 | Hill of Beginnings | Yes |
| Ore (pre-Mines) | 8, -526 | Windswept Island Watchtower | Yes |
| Ore & coal (endgame) | 188, -37 | Sealed Realm of the Mystic | No |
| Quartz | -210, 250 | Garden Beneath | No |
| Oil (3 nodes) | -855, -456 | Mount Obsidian Trail | Yes |
| Oil + Kinship Peach | 917, 193 | Oasis Isle | Yes |
| Hexolite (3 nodes) | -1064, -1428 | Frozen Coral Hill Watchtower | No raid access |
Early game start base at 247, -500
Your first base placement is low stakes, so this spot near the Hill of Beginnings works fine as a launch point. The buildable area is tight, which actually helps because the narrow approach makes it harder for raiders to reach you. Drop the Palbox roughly in the center and you will have enough room to get started.

Ore base at 8, -526 before you unlock Mines
Near the Windswept Island Watchtower sits a cluster of four naturally spawning ore nodes. Set the Palbox in the middle of those four so a mining Pal can reach every node. This is a strong stopgap for stockpiling ore before you unlock the Ore Mines, though the location is still open to raids, so keep defenses in mind.
Unraidable ore and coal base at 188, -37
The mountain near the Sealed Realm of the Mystic is the go-to spot for avoiding raids entirely, which makes it a strong endgame home. Setup takes patience because the uneven ground means you will lean on a lot of pillars to lay flat floors. Place the Palbox in the center of the base circle.
Tip: If you want ore and coal from this location, do not build pillars directly over those nodes. Even when a mining Pal cannot physically reach a node, the game will still mine it, so keep the nodes clear and let the automation work.

Quartz base at -210, 250
On the raised plateau near Garden Beneath you can gather Quartz well before unlocking the Quarry. Position the Palbox so it reaches all the Quartz nodes while sitting near the center of the plateau, which leaves room to use the base for other production too. Raids cannot touch this spot, making it a safe long-term farm.
Oil bases at -855, -456 and 917, 193
Oil is scarce, so bases that reach three Oil nodes at once are worth prioritizing. The first sits on the ocean side just below the Mount Obsidian Trail. The second is on Oasis Isle next to the desert, and it adds the chance of a Kinship Peach spawning in the water on the right side.
For either location, set the Palbox where it can cover all three Oil nodes, which is straightforward at both spots. At the Oasis Isle base, extend coverage to the Kinship Peach spawn as well and bring a high-level transport Pal to carry the peach into a chest automatically.
Tip: You can stack two Oil Extractors on a single Oil node, which effectively doubles throughput from one deposit.

Hexolite Quartz base at -1064, -1428
Most areas offer only one or two Hexolite Quartz nodes, but the small hill above the Frozen Coral Hill Watchtower packs three. Try to cover as much of that hill as you can with the base footprint for extra utility, while making sure all three nodes fall inside your mining Pal’s reach. Raids do not have access here, so it doubles as a safe farm.
Notes on raids and node coverage
Not every spot listed as safe was necessarily unraidable in earlier versions of the game, and some may have been adjusted for 1.0. The mountain, Quartz plateau, and Hexolite hill are the most reliable for keeping raiders out, while the start, ore, and oil bases remain exposed and need defensive structures or Pals. A dedicated Sulfur location is still being pinned down, so no confirmed coordinate exists for it yet.
You will know a placement is working when your mining or extraction Pals lock onto every node in range and the corresponding material starts flowing into your base storage. If a node stays untouched, the usual cause is a pillar or structure sitting on top of it, or the node falling just outside the Palbox radius. Reposition the Palbox or clear the obstruction and the automation resumes.
