Palworld: Neptilius Location and How to Catch It

Neptilius spawns as a Level 60 Alpha Boss on the Isle of the Glacial Core, with breeding and egg options to back it up.

Neptilius is the Water-element Alpha Boss added with the Tides of Terraria update, sitting at No. 201 in the Paldeck. It is a top-tier swimming mount and a strong combat Pal, and there is exactly one place to fight it in the wild.

Quick answer: Neptilius appears as a Level 60 Alpha Boss inside the Sealed Realm of the Glacial Core on the Isle of the Glacial Core, west of Deep Sand Dunes, near coordinates 139, 651. Bring Cold-Resistant gear and Electric Pals, then use Legendary Spheres or better to catch it.

Neptilius location on the Isle of the Glacial Core

The only overworld spawn for Neptilius is the Isle of the Glacial Core, reached by heading west from Deep Sand Dunes across the ocean. It waits at roughly 139, 651 as a dungeon Alpha Boss fixed at Level 60. You will need a reliable water mount or flying mount to make the crossing.

Do not look for it in the World Tree. Neptilius does not spawn there at any point, day or night, so the Sealed Realm on the Isle of the Glacial Core is your single wild encounter.

Gear and counters for the Neptilius fight

The Isle of the Glacial Core is a freezing zone, and Neptilius mixes in Ice-element attacks, so cold protection matters as much as raw damage. Since it is a pure Water Pal, Electric attackers tear through it quickly.

LoadoutRecommendation
ArmorCold-Resistant Pal Metal Armor and Helmet
WeaponAssault Rifle, with any Shotgun as backup
Party PalsElectric types such as Grizzbolt and Relaxarus Lux
SpheresLegendary Spheres at minimum; Ultimate or Ancient if available

Whittle its HP down before you throw spheres, and let your Electric Pals absorb most of the pressure while you keep your distance from its Ice moves. You know the capture worked when Neptilius joins your party and appears in your Palbox; a failed throw simply returns it to the fight.

Respawn timer after defeating Neptilius

If you defeat Neptilius instead of catching it, it returns after one real-time hour. The map marks it as defeated, and a one-hour timer shows at the entrance to the Sealed Realm of the Glacial Core. You can still walk inside during that window, but the realm stays empty until the timer runs out and the boss is available to fight again.

Get Neptilius from a Huge Damp Egg or breeding

You do not have to beat the Alpha Boss to add Neptilius to your collection. It hatches from a Huge Damp Egg, the same egg type that produces Suzaku Aqua, Faleris Aqua, and Panthalus. Huge Damp Eggs turn up as interactable pickups around the islands, or you can produce one through breeding.

Place two compatible parent Pals in a Breeding Farm to generate a Huge Damp Egg. A confirmed combination for Neptilius pairs Necromus with Eidrolon Ignis, and breeding two Neptilius together also produces another Neptilius.
Move the egg into an Egg Incubator and wait for it to hatch. Once it does, Neptilius is added to your party exactly as if you had caught it.

Neptilius stats, drops, and skills

Neptilius is built as a durable Water bruiser. It carries the Sentinel of the Great Sea partner skill, which follows up your attacks with Water spear strikes, lets you ride it across water, and allows a high leap over the surface while mounted.

Its exclusive Level 60 skill, Thalassonic Laser, sweeps a high-pressure water stream vertically and horizontally three times before erupting fissures.

The first time you take it down, the Alpha Boss also awards a Neptilius Bounty Token, Ancient Civilization Parts, and a Precious Dragon Stone, with a 3% chance at Charge Rifle Schematic 4. As a party member, Neptilius sits at the top of the swimming mount rankings and holds S-tier value for both combat and base roles, though its single Watering work suitability makes it a poor choice for base assignment compared with dedicated workers.
