Loomen is a dual Dark and Fire Pal added in Palworld 1.0, sitting at Paldeck entry #180. Its value comes almost entirely from its Partner Skill, which rewards a bow-and-arrow playstyle, though its triple Level 4 work profile also makes it a reliable pick back at camp. The build below covers both roles so you can decide whether Loomen rides in your active party or stays home producing.
Quick answer: Keep Loomen in your party for archery. Its Lantern Enchantment Partner Skill makes your arrows explode on contact for an extra 15% of your attack damage, upgradeable to 30%. Pair it with the Active Skills Lantern Flame, Volcanic Rain, and Dark Whisp, and the Passive Skills Legend, Demon God, Serenity, and Musclehead.

Combat build: turning arrows into explosions
Loomen’s only job in an active party is amplifying your ranged damage. While it stays in your party, every arrow you fire detonates on impact, adding damage equal to a percentage of your attack. That bonus starts at 15% and reaches 30% once the Partner Skill is fully leveled. The effect does not stack, so a single Loomen is all you need for the buff.
Because you are the one dealing damage through the bow, treat Loomen as a support unit rather than a front-line attacker. Its own Active Skills still matter when you summon it directly or defend against raids, so pick the highest-power options it can learn.
Best Active Skills for combat
| Active Skill | Element | Power | Cooldown |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lantern Flame | Dark | 650 | 30s |
| Dark Whisp | Dark | 600 | 30s |
| Volcanic Rain | Fire | 450 | 20s |
Lantern Flame is Loomen’s exclusive skill. It raises the lantern and summons several spirits that chase the target at once, which is harder to dodge than a single tracking projectile. Volcanic Rain gives you Fire coverage on a shorter cooldown, and Dark Whisp rounds out the set with a strong Dark hit.
Best Passive Skills for combat
- Legend — Attack +20%, Defense +20%, Movement Speed +20%
- Demon God — Attack +30%, Defense +5%
- Serenity — Active skill cooldown reduction 30%, Attack +10%
- Musclehead — Attack +30% (Work Speed -50%)
These four skills stack raw Attack while Serenity keeps Loomen’s high-power skills firing more often. Musclehead’s Work Speed penalty does not matter for a combat-only Pal, so it is worth taking here even though you would avoid it at your base.

Loomen’s Dark and Fire typing leaves it exposed on two fronts. Dragon-type attacks punish its Dark side, while Water-type attacks answer its Fire side and stay neutral against the rest of its kit. Avoid bringing Grass or Ice Pals, since Loomen’s Fire moves hit both for double damage.
| Weakness | Recommended counters |
|---|---|
| Dragon and Water | Panthalus, Shaolong, Jormuntide, Orzerk, Relaxaurus |
When Lantern Flame triggers, break line of sight. The pursuing spirits are difficult to outrun in open ground, so put cover or terrain between you and them instead of trying to circle away.
Base build: a three-job worker
Loomen covers three base tasks at the same rank, which makes it flexible for slotting into different crafting stations. All three roles sit at Level 4.
| Work Suitability | Level |
|---|---|
| Kindling | 4 |
| Handiwork | 4 |
| Medicine Production | 4 |
If you assign Loomen to your base, favor Passive Skills that raise output rather than combat stats. The same Active Skills from the combat build still apply here, since they help Loomen defend your base during raids.
Best Passive Skills for base work
- Remarkable Craftsmanship
- Artisan
- Work Slave
- Serious
Note: Musclehead is a strong combat pick, but its -50% Work Speed makes it a poor fit for a base assignment. Keep your combat and base Loomen on separate Passive Skill sets if you plan to use both roles.
Loomen stats and movement
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Size | M |
| Rarity | 5 |
| Health | 90 |
| Food | 530 |
| Melee Attack | 100 |
| Magic Attack | 100 |
| Defense | 95 |
| Work Speed | 100 |
| Support | 100 |
| Run Speed | 300 |
| Ride Sprint Speed | 450 |
| Transport Speed | 175 |
| Swim Speed | 300 |
| Stamina | 100 |
Loomen cannot be ridden, so those sprint and swim figures apply only to how it moves when summoned rather than as a mount.
Where to find and breed Loomen
Loomen spawns on the World Tree map, in the mountainous area below the Gilded City Ruins along the tree’s southern edge. That places it firmly in late-game territory, and it is a nocturnal Pal, so plan your captures around its day and night habitat.
You can also hatch Loomen from a Large Dark Egg or breed it in a Breeding Farm. Hundreds of parent combinations produce Loomen, and one of the simplest pairs is Penking Lux and Astralym. Once you have an egg, place it in an Egg Incubator and wait for it to hatch.
However you obtain it, the payoff is the same. Slot Loomen into your party if you rely on the bow, or send it to a crafting station if you need a steady worker. Its Partner Skill is the reason to keep it close, and everything else in the build simply supports that ranged damage.
